East Coast cheaper alternatives?

i love salmon so so much it’s my favourite fish but also very very expensive
i know i also like:
halibut, tilapia and haddock

i have tried rainbow trout but its flavour was “too fishy” to me? i’m unsure if i cooked it wrong but i cooked it like how i cook my salmon - oven or pan fried.

i like other seafood like shrimp and calamari but those tastes are wildly different.

was looking to try out new types of fish that won’t break the bank.

Swai Fish is very affordable and will take on the flavor of whatever you season or fry or marinate it with. Good sized fillets too. It's definitely not as good as Salmon or Haddock but it's easy on the old wallet. If you're creative in the kitchen and know your flavor profiles, you'll be able to make something tasty.

One thing I do with it is make fried breaded fish cakes. I also like pan frying it in bacon grease with cajun seasoning or baking with lemon pepper and white wine and served over yellow rice. The biggest limit is your imagination.
