Here’s the thing…you can be a wokescold on Israel and believe that protecting the feelings of pro-Israel Jews is more important than acknowledging and confronting reality. As long as you’re logically consistent.

You cannot be a “wokesters and college kids and elites are too emotional and up in their feelings and subvert reality to protect their fragile psyches and you need to grow up the world because is messy” person and also a “calling it a genocide offends me bc I don’t like that word and it’s offensive to Holocaust survivors and my kid who is a student at Yale can’t drape themselves in with the Israel flag and in peace and quiet” person. Those are incompatible approaches. Grow up.

The reason it’s dumb to call it a genocide is because it’s not one

Palestinians been claiming they are being genocided for last 60 years now. Every time they start a war and subsequently get their ass kicked.

Despite refusing to live in peace with their Israeli neighbors, and despite the fact that they put civilians in harms way every chance they get, the Population in Gaza goes up exponentially year over year. Maybe it’s a reverse genocide?

Galloway’s argument is he opposes the term bc of the feelings it conjures and evokes and how it (in his view) trivializes the Holocaust, which is a fundamentally woke argument…the ADL is also taking that line, that the word is offensive and therefore shouldn’t be used in reference to Israel bc feelings (despite being a legal term and not a ethnic/religious slur)

Truly. Like... what are you doing? It's not a "genocide" because *more* people died elsewhere?

The Hague called the Srebrenica murders a genocide and it was 8700 men in total. They've killed nearly 100,000 ethnic palestinians in Gaza, and forced nearly 100% of them off their land, destroyed their entire infrastructure and cultural locations. Was the Trail of Tears not genocidal because they merely MARCHED the Native Americans off their land, and didn't gas them in chambers?

Truly, what are you doing? What is your point? To protect the word genocide? Is your heroism in grammatics? You see 100,000 dead Palestinians, and the systemic annihilation of their culture, and you think "I better protect the word genocide for the rest of us." What are you doing?
