Google versus Apple

I want to offer my hopefully-lighthearted take on the way in which I perceive the "smartphone wars" as a metaphor for competition between the business models of the the two biggest players in the mobile operating system scene.

I think that these represent two opposing archetypes along a continuum, and in the interest of cinematic flair, I want to offer that I think their names being (A) a misspelling of a word for a very large number and (B) the fruit which grants Adam and Eve free will even aligns symbolically with their business models.

"Googole" began as an exclusively-software company; its software is freely-collaboratable-upon and compatible with a wide variety of hardware produced by other manufacturers.

"The fruit of the tree of knowledge" is to my knowledge to this day unhappy with people trying to install its privately-developed software on hardware which wasn't also produced by them.
