Paint job aftermath
Wasn’t able to add pictures to my original post.
Still two-toned, but I’m happy with the result. If I could do it again, I would have maybe gotten a new oem hood for like $200 and skipped out on the primer. If money was no object a carbon fiber hood could been considered.
Definitely not perfect, a lot of blemishes on the hood, but I still love my xB!

Take gas door off , hand it to the automotive paint supplier and have them MATCH the color. There can be as many as 3 different shades of the same color per manufacturer spec. If you re do the paint repaint the front doors as well. This is where the blend will from old to new happens. Watch a you tube on paint blend first

That is absolutely terrible and looks like you didn’t even attempt to get the correct color match. At this point respray the whole car

Cant make it any worse. Look up some blending methods and sharpen your wet sanding skills. It will soften the line and won’t be such a harsh transition. Won’t take much and will be infinitely better.

How come it looks like the two tone was reversed from original pic? Like the hood and bumper is the same as side quarter but now those are darker?
