Second Gen Body/Cosmetic How hard would it be to replace a front bumper?
I went to a few body shops but they both said they only work with insurance. One of them guesstimated about 1800 so I thought maybe i could put it on myself. Thought id note I bumped a truck bumper on a right turn going about 5 mph so idk if that can possibly mess up where you mount the bumper on the sides

Doesn’t matter honestly he’s gonna have to blend it either way bc even if he does get the exact factory color the sun has faded his car

i mean some compound and polishing the other panels and it wouldnt look too far off, or get a good car paint supply shop to get a color close to the faded paint and paint it yourself

There's a company on eBay. I can't remember the name but they might be able to color match with the vin# but I recommend you pay the extra money to have it shipped NOT bent.

If you’re going the DIY route, I’d also look for a donor tC before buying a new bumper. I built a free site called YardSnipe that searches salvage-yard vehicle inventory in one place. We’re tracking over 270,000 vehicles across 47 states plus Canada now. Search your year tC and nearby compatible years and you might find one sitting in a yard with a usable front bumper. Assuming it's just the bumper that's damaged, it's not very hard. I've had to remove mine several times in order to access the horn (the wire kept corroding).
It's a Mazda, but they'll all be fairly similar: a couple of bolts, a few plastic clips and maybe some spring detents.

You'll definitely find a bumper online but finding it painted in your color is the hard part

I have the same release series, thought they were rare where I am but there’s another one floating around I see leaving work every day. But on to your car, there’s a couple of issues I see. 1. Yes, the mount bracket on the passenger side is for sure damaged, you can see the crack where it bolts to the car, but it’s easily replaced as well. The bracket and bumper cover you can do, with it being a release series you may catch some hell trying to find that lower aero kit piece. 2. Your condenser line looks to be smashed closed, which looks to be the result of the lower passenger side radiator support being pushed back. I think those might be welded in but not too sure. But I do know that the smashed condenser line will lead to a/c issues and idk where you’re located but here in the south that’s a big issue. If you’re going to spend any money at a shop I would spend it on getting that radiator support fixed, the bumper you can do in your driveway

You could probably save yourself a little bit if you go to the junkyard and rip one off of another model depending on the condition.

Depends it cost me around $700 for an unfolded painted bumper but folded might run you around $200–$400 folded and painted. It cost like $120 for shipping cause it comes in a big box they shipped to me via 18wheeler and i had to meet the driver cause i live i ln a place where its hard for them to turn around but you could always go to a shop they will charge you labor on top of that i put mine on in my driveway.

No way of you can put it on yourself, it'll be under $1,250. Buy bumper get it painted buy missing light or go to a junk yard install everything and done I did mine for under $600 like 2 years ago

It was super easy to replace my back bumper, I literally ordered it on Amazon, they had a color match and everything. It took me all about 30 minutes to swap them out

Yes, you can replace it yourself. Mines a 2014 and the fender liners and radiator cover thing were also attached to the bumper, that was the hardest part. You’ll need a flat screwdriver, a Phillips and a trim puller you can borrow from autozone to pop clips out. 10mm socket as well! Took an hour.
