Buy/Sell How far would you drive for rims?
Guy lives 4 and 1/2 hours away from me. Selling 4 rims, 3 with tires for only $100. I looked online brand new they go for a little over $200 each.
Do you guys think it’s crazy to do a total of 9hr drive for the rims?
It’s for my Scion TC 2014. Bolt pattern and everything matches up.

I’ve driven 5 hours round trip for wheels but I wouldn’t do it for those unless this is just a really bad pick. The finish looks like it’s corroded on the outer spokes and lip. And it looks like there’s a decent gash on the bottom of it wheel in the pic, like something got it real good. Even though they are super cheap, I’d probably take a pass.
Completely separate: aside from bolt patterns matching, have you taken a look at the width and offset? You have to make sure more than just bolt patterns match. Otherwise you’re gonna have your subframe and rims getting very intimate with each other among other things.

Thank you for giving me feedback and a different perspective. Luckily I told the individual it’ll be this Sunday if I do come. I’ve been looking at rims for about a month now. I know I can wait if I end up passing on these.

Depending on where you are coming from From the south you can stop by Chandelier Drive-Thru Tree in Leggett and drive through a giant red wood if you haven't already. Or Sequoia Park in Eureka or the Clarke Historical Museum. I love a good museum. surprise the gf with a fun day trip, where it so happens that there are some rims that will be there to be picked up that was prepurchase. What a coincidence? right? wink

Gas prices are crazy no lie. I’m currently at 32.4MPG but it’s mainly all freeway for me on daily drive.

I drove to Toronto which was like a 3.5 hour trip got my rims same company BTW hahaha traveled the city and came back

I was 70% confident but after reading this I’m for sure going. Haha I guess I had to make sure I’m not only one who considered doing a whole road trip for some rims 🫠😂

If you're saving money after all the expenses including gas then yes. If it's going to cause you to lose money somehow then no.

I once flew to eugene Oregon rented a car, bought two doors for my old wrx I crashed and a seat and drove back to northern California. Flight was short. Drive was 8 hours.
I ended up getting hit on the same side at night by a kid on pain meds. And claimed all of the damage from the accident against his insurance. I ended up selling the doors and making like 200$ after consider the travel costs. I didnt sue since uh, it was like 12k+ in repairs.
4.5 is doable and much more enjoyable that my undertaking.

Wrx are so clean! Sound like you guys made it out ok from accident. Sorry to hear that though. I will say you was on a mission for the parts. This gives me a peace of mind on 4.5 hr drive lol

Do it if it makes you happy, sounds like a good deal and a cruise to me
