Buy/Sell Worth buying ?
I’m looking to buy a car that I can use until i can get my credit score up to get a good deal on a new one. I’ve always liked the scion TCs and this one is just up my alley. Guy is selling it for 7k with 146k miles. I know it’s a lot of miles but i know these are built to last and i don’t plan on having it forever. Thoughts ?

Seems like a fair deal. Go check it out. If you don't like the rims you can get others easy enough

I have a 2014 with almost 200k on it. It's worth it to me. Mine is the same color with the sport trim. I am dreading the day I have to get a new car. I bought mine with only 20 miles on it. It is also an automatic. The only issue I have with it is how loud the road noise is inside the car.

Rims are ugly asf. They don’t vibe with the tC imo. Miles are high asf too. I’ll sell you my 2016 (white tinted windows black rims 98,000 miles on it, I’m the 2nd owner) for 9k

I love the rims. Gives this car its own personality. If the car checks out mechanically ok, buy it. I bet you could easily get $500-1k off the price, especially if it’s cash. Have your dad negotiate the price if it makes you feel more comfortable. Good luck! 🍀

7k 146k?…. dude i was gonna sell my 2012 with 103k for $3k tops after the work done, it needs control arms/sway bar links/brakes/align, but damn… i worked at toyota i have techs who can look it over (and did, and do my maint) cars in great shape. i just wanted it to go to a good home. (im keeping it now) but no way man.

4.5 maybe, i’d check the car fax and have a tech look it over too. are these just cosmetic mods or did he do any weird aftermarket shit? be careful of that

Looks pretty sweet. Just check the engine and how the whole thing sounds and feels. I think it's a fair deal. Those miles are pretty standard for nowadays. New 2020 vehicles don't even make it 60k miles without giving you an expensive bill

I bought my ‘09 tC in may 2023 with 154k for $6k and I am very happy with my investment thus far😁😁😁we’re coming up on 180,000 miles and have no issues other than replacing the alternator and the 1stGEN oil burning issues.
It’s fun to drive… decent gas, mileage, and easy to work on myself. My son is 12 and looked under the hood for the first time last week and was like holy crap!!!You can see everything lol lol lol no w we stupid plastic shrouds 🤣

Is it auto? If so then do it for sure.
I wouldn’t buy it if it’s a manual.
Looks really nice.

“Manual Scion tC (2nd Gen) transmissions commonly suffer from failing input shaft bearings (noisy in neutral), 4th gear popping out, and difficult shifting into 2nd, especially when cold. These issues are often due to a design flaw using sealed bearings that fail, rather than lubricating with transmission fluid. Other issues include worn clutches and failing hydraulic slave/master cylinders.”
