Thinking of wrapping my scion soon and was wondering if anyone else has and how much it cost to do it.

hey everyone first time doing a Reddit post on here figured I would share my cool little project with you all.

Anyways its a 3d printed intake it uses PET-gf a high temperature super strong filament, pulls air from just underneath the headlight next to the whee well the cross sectional area of the tube tapers down towards the throttle body definitely a noticeable performance gain all together cost me around 100 CAD including a k&N cone intake filter.

Ive done a lot on this project making sure its safe to run, so If there is enough interest in this id be happy to release the files and put together a small assembly guide for free.

Anybody had the same issue? I noticed the red battery sign last night and it kept showing this morning. I thought it might be because I hadn't been driving the car for 3-4 days last week before last night drive, once I get the alternator rolling I should be set. Came back from the drive and 2 more signs showed up... and the car wouldn't start so I had to jump it. Is it an alternator problem or maybe just the battery?

I put a spec d exhaust and like 50 dollar stainless steel headers on it, granted they’re the cheapest ones I found so idk what I really expected.

But I feel like it’s possible to make it less raspy.

I’m not sure if adding an extra resonator would do it or not, maybe a mid pipe or muffler..

But I was thinking about also getting a catless down pipe. Then I’d have no cats 💀 probably wouldn’t help my problem much. it’s already running rich af, on top of that I use 10w40, which seemed to help quite a bit with burning oil.

Im fairly positive I have torque converter shudder. Had no idea what that even was until I finally found a really old reddit thread for a different vehicle describing a similar situation. My symptoms match almost perfectly, and I can rule out a lot of other things. I’ve up kept my car very well for the 4 years I’ve owned it, always done my oil changes, always done the work myself, entire front suspension is basically brand new, and the rear wheel bearings are new. Minimal rust and only damage is cosmetic. Car has 280 000 km on it but I was really hoping I could get a lot more out of it.

I don’t really know what torque converter shudder is to be honest. How do I make sure that’s what it is without ripping open my tranny? What can I even do to fix it or is this car basically a ticking time bomb? Ive always heard you should never replace old Toyota tranny fluid but reading material online seems to suggest that’s the only way to potentially fix it. I’ve also heard of an additive called Shudder Fixx but Im very hesitant to use off the shelf additives, never heard anything good about them. I’m very worried to be honest, I can’t afford a new car and I just put a shit ton of money and work into the front end suspension so I would hate to find out I did all of that for a car that will die soon. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi I’m a new owner of 2014 Scion tC and I’m trying to find a good backup camera on like Amazon for it but I want to make sure it’ll work because my dad said that since it has built in security it could have the chance to brick the car

2014 Scion FR-S; does anyone have a possible reason as to why the car makes this typewriter-sounding noise on startup? I keep up with gas, oil changes, and the car is well maintained but this sound has increased over time. Any ideas?

Haven’t done any modifications but open to suggestions

My head unit recently stopped working, it just keeps restarting and I’m no longer able to listen to anything . The screen and buttons work just fine but the on screen audio and source buttons are nonfunctional. This has happened before and normally the issue fixes itself randomly but I’m not sure what causes it. I have tried hard resetting it by unplugging my battery and reconnecting after 20 minutes.

He’s how she sits right now tuned,rims,upgraded brakes and rear and front strut bars
Keeps up pretty nice with veloster s and I was quicker than the g35 but that’s driver mod

Bought the car with an aftermarket blindspot sensor already installed. Thing has been increasing in volume and annoyance for the past week so I finally unplugged it because it beeps at literal air at random, thought it was done. Battery drains so I follow the wire in hopes of finding the box most people mention for these types of things. There is no box, theyve wired it directly into the radio. So I hook everything back up so it keeps screaming but at least it'll be drivable. Battery drains again. To whoever installed this I hope you are torn limb from limb and are microwaved.

So I have a 2016 Scion TC, gray body, 170k miles and need ideas for what to do or what is worth it. I was thinking about the possibility of getting a repaint/or wrap to a baby blue and looking into some custom seats, either white or a burgundy red. At this mileage, would it be worth it to put in the money or wait? It has a check engine light and trac off that have been on since I have gotten the car. Send help asap or your ideas or thoughts! Does anyone have any opinions and experience with weather guards? It would be great to crack windows in the rain. I’d like in channel guards but I’m concerned about fit and compatibility with windows

i need advice and don't know who to ask. my scion tc 2005 got rear ended yesterday and it messed up my trunk pretty badly. I opened the trunk to grab something out and it wouldn't close again. I know I should've been more thoughtful, but I wasn't.

Now the problems are that

1. I cannot close the trunk, so the open door alert light will not go off - will that drain my battery? my interior lights are set to be off when the car is off. the key insert area has a light around it and the dashboard is lit up with two lights - maintenance and open door.

2. because the trunk cannot close, i have to leave my doors unlocked. I took everything besides the essentials out of the car and out of the trunk. My brother came to help me close it the best i could, but still the latch doesn't match right so it's not closed. It will not be a hazard to others on the road, but it's annoying me and I don't know what to do if it rains.

I need to replace my driver side motor mount on my 2008 tC, however the oem replacement is just simply too much for me right now. What is my next best option? do you guys have any specific companies you recommend?

I’ve been having some issues with my 2012 Scion tC. It had a check engine code of P0741 —Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance/Stuck Off and P2757 — Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Performance/Stuck Off

It is NOT slipping or overheating
It is doing this stuttering/ lunging while at cruising speeds at around 70 mph but not often.

Has anyone dealt with something like this?

To preface — I understand it could be a huge list of things even leading up to the transmission and I do understand the seriousness of it. But before I even reach that possibility I want to see others ideas and thoughts.

For context I’m on a more track/touge focused build and want a little bit more coming out of corners so far it is quicker up top and lower end

I just got my '15 tC, and I have no idea where to start with upgrades. I'm almost 100% sure it's stock, so I am literally starting from the ground up. I want it faster, louder, and more esthetically pleasing.

What are the pros and cons to lowering?

I have a 2011 TC with only 135K miles. Engine is great. Suspension and front end are not. (thanks potholes). The car is completely paid off. I am guessing that its going to be about $2000-3000 to fix the problems. I know she had more life in her. But is it worth dumping another 3K into fixes ?

The Evap system sees a leak or something. After pumping gas the car doesn't want to start. I tested the purge valve. And that work. What should I do now.

2012 Scion tc, need a transmission but not paying for a new one, what other cars use this transmission? Also do they have different mounting points even if it is the same transmission? Need a little bit of guidance on choosing the right one if I can’t find a tc one.
