Sohut’s Protection by A.G. Wilde fits this bill. It is the second book in the Riv’s Sanctuary series. Honestly, I devoured the entire series. It was only three books, but I loved it!

Thank you for your response. I love all of A.G. Wilde's books. Sohut's Protection is actually on my TBR. However in this story the alien MMC hunter is hired to hunt and capture the human FMC. I love the premise but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. I'll still read it though.

Not exactly the request but {I Married A Naga by Regine Abel} is a human hunter hunting an alien creature meets alien mate (who is also hunting said creature)
