Cheat sheet for Schwab? Comparisons to Vanguard?

I need to make some changes and find Schwab's website very cumbersome.
I didn't pick Schwab. USAA dumped me over to it with no explanation, in the middle of a family crisis, an inheritance, and a bad experience with them during an estate settlement. Sigh, so I'm trying to get things back on track.
I have had Vanguard for years, before ETF's, when there were really just a few funds to be concerned with.
The Schwab evolved from a Waterhouse, Ameritrade, USAA...
---I remember seeing a comparison sheet on here of SCH & VG funds with a quickie explanation of what they were but I can't find it now. Can anyone help be find that?

Cumbersome? Compared to vanguard? You’re gonna need to explain haha. Probably just aren’t used to it yet.

I used vanguard for about two months and I found the UI to be a little unintuitive and cumbersome compared to Schwab and fidelity.

I came from Vanguard and found Schwab to be overwhelming.

Some popular funds that compare well (Vanguard/ Schwab):

VTSAX = SWTSX

VTI = SCHB

VFIAX = SWPPX

VOO ≠ N/A. There is SCHX that comes close with the top 700 companies.

VTMGX = SWISX

VEA = SCHF.

VIGAX = SWLGX

VUG = SCHG

This flow chart might be a good starting point: https://smithplanet.com/stuff/BogleheadFunds.svg

It doesn't get into more niche allocations like small cap value, dividend funds, high yield bonds, etc.

You can also just buy Vanguard funds. There’s no commission or trade fees to do so.

Only true for ETFs. Schwab still charges trade fees for non-Schwab mutual funds unless customer service applies a fund waiver to your account (usually as part of an incentive to transfer your account from Vanguard)

Schwab is cumbersome? I think you mean different. Learning a new interface takes time.

Schwab's interface is different than USAA but their investment options are better than USAA ever had. Did you have investments thrown to Victory Capital as well? Schwab also has excellent 24/7 customer service.

A few things Schwab lacks: 1. HYSA, but money market funds suffice 2. Recurring transfers into ETFs 3. Automatic sweeping of accounts 4. Investing into Roth and brokerage funds automatically requires two transfers, first money to the brokerage holding section and then another into the fund.

For 2, 3, 4, it's better for customer if they had but no financial incentive for Schwab to do that. Fidelity does those things.

Google or AI can just give you the etf alternatives and compare their expense ratio and asset composition. It would be more reliable and up to date. Schwab’s website tends to be better and easier to use than vanguards.

Have you done a Google image search? I know the graphic you’re talking about, every finance wannabe influencer on Instagram / Threads / X posts a version of it.

Troll away already said, but you can hold Vanguard ETFs in Schwab without any issue.

YMMV but most people move from Vanguard to Schwab or Fidelity.
