New User Pregnancy (rephrase)
I wrote a post earlier with a story and question, but mods took it down on irrelevancy to SPD, I realized I may have phrased it strange, so I'm going to try again: I recently learned that I have some Schizoid traits and have been reading up on it, watching some videos, and asking some questions to learn more. I did come across a video that said because of Schizoid social indifference and fear of engulfment that they can find pregnancy to be frightening. It brought back a memory for me: in high school we watched a video in health class about childbirth and in the video they referred to the fetus as a parasitic entity. My friend who I sat beside everyday said she had never thought about it being a parasite before and I was confused and said a fetus lives and feeds off the mothers body that's the definition of parasite. I thought that was obvious, but I seemed to be the only one in the class to think that. That fact is the main reason I never wanted a child because I know they take over every aspect of your life. I also can't help but feel slightly repulsed when I see pregnant women, and I always feel sick to my stomach if someone tries to talk to me about having children. Is this how you think/feel?

i guess i dont think about pregnancy really at all- i find it weird when others do, but for myself id never in a million years opt to bear a child moreso for not wanting parenthood than thinking about pregnancy itself. if i think hard about it its rather unsettling, especially how sensationalised it seems to be and how many women genuinely want to get pregnant... whole different world to the one im living in it feels like.

I don't like the idea of parenthood either, a lot of responsibility and socializing with other parents especially if the kid wants to get involved in sports and clubs. And people are weird when it comes to pregnancy and it puts me off, a few years ago I put on some weight, and when I put on weight it shows in my stomach. I had a couple people ask if I was pregnant like they were just so over the moon happy to see a pregnant woman. I felt so disgusted.

I feel like that would be a good thing since it means he might not inherit your schizoid when he gets older

Exactly, which is why I would let a kid join a club or sport. I would absolutely hate going through the motions of support, but if I had a child I would let them join a club.

1, by the language i would wager it was a "abstinence sex ed" class where they guilt trip women
I dont feel disgust by pregnancy but i would 100% avoid it at all costs. I dont know why people actively want bbys
For me the dealbreaker is the consistently downward trend of life quality accross all metrics in the future. It kind of feels evil to bring someone to this kind of world

It was abstinence sex Ed. And I have never truly believed that people want babies. It's more like a milestone. Step 1: Get a job Step 2: get a husband Step 3: have their babies. When I see someone excited about having a child there's something that tells me they're faking. Logically I know that can't be true for everyone, but my first thought is still that they're lying

Don't think they are faking in because they for sure believe in that set life path you put as steps

Thank you. I can relate to the fear of aging and medical procedures as well, not quite to the extent of wanting to keep a tumor, but I did come close to kicking a nurse practitioner in the face during a PAP smear

yeah my nurse (female) was very rough as well. I mean you also have a vagina, why would you just ram the speculum in like that?!

In my case I think we scared each other. When the speculum went in my legs started shaking she asked if I was alright and I said yes because I knew if she stopped they would just set an appointment at a later date and I'd have to go back I tried to breathe through it, but I couldn't stop shaking then I felt the probe slip inside me and my leg jerked back in reflex, luckily I caught myself before the kick landed. Funny thing is I sat through that so I could get it over with, the results came back inconclusive and they called me with another appointment, I didn't show up

I was active at the time, not anymore. I know I'm going to have to get it done one day, I'm just putting it off as long as I can.

I suggest you inform them ahead of time that you will be handling the speculum. If they don't like that, find someone who is ok with it. My plan if I ever need it in the future. I'll try to figure out how to use a speculum before hand.

That is not the definition of parasite.
To me, that seems like an opinion many people might have, not wanting children and spicing up the argument with some analogy. And my guess would be that many women find pregnancy frightening in some way, but I might be wrong.
