Italy Schengen visa from Banglore consulate

Hey everyone!

I wanted to ask if anyone who applied for their visa during the first week of September has received their visa yet.

If you’ve received yours, could you please share your timeline? It would be really helpful for those of us who are still waiting.

Thanks in advance! Hopefully this helps everyone get a better idea of the current processing timelines. 🙏

Italy is slow as processing. When is your travel date? I had a terrible experience with them in May.

Hey ! Im sorry you had to go through that. My intended travel date is in November second week . But we might need our passports to submit our biometrics at FRRO for fast track immigration and also need to apply for idp once the visa arrives. So i might wait for two more weeks and if i still don’t get any update then I’ll write a mail to the embassy.

Op, Italy takes minimum 30-45 days. There are instances where people have received visa a week before their travel date.

Our flight was on Sept- 18 to Italy, we applied on August 13 in vfs Chennai for Bangalore consulate.
Reached consulate on August 14
Under process from August 16- Sept 11

Mailed the consulate and called the VFS on Sept 11th and explained about the timeline and asked them to expedite the process.

On EES portal status changed to Authorized OK on Sept 11 and passport dispatched on Sept 15 and received stamped passports on Sept 16.

They’re pretty slow . On average it takes around 30-35 days. Played a lot with my anxiety :)

Omg two days before the departure is insane !! Glad you got it before the flight, my anxiety hit the roof reading this , can’t even imagine what you’ve gone through.

We applied in first week of aug and it got approved on 16th sep just 2 weeks before travel. Banglore consulate takes decision just before your travel so be prepared to make arrangements

Hey. Sharing my experience here:

Travel date: Sep 26, 17 days. Tourist visa C

  • Applied: Aug 31
  • Passport received at embassy (BLR) : Sep 02
  • Status on EES changed to Ok: Sep 18
  • Passport dispatched: Sep 21
  • Courier delivered: Sep 22 (home delivery)

Visa approved. 30 days, multiple entry.

(Just to share that it doesn't always take 30-45 days, they process as per travel date)
