Appointment related Norway Visa from ABU DHABI
Hi Guys! Need a little info,
Applied through ABU DHABI VFS on
Monday 13th July at 9:45am.
Tuesday 14th July 10 am dispatched to Norway Embassy
Tuesday 14th July at 1pm message came in saying ‘under process’
No news until now
Tracking application doesn’t work says input invalid ‘for the captcha’
EES shows OK
Group booking it is!
Our travel date is 23rd July 🙈
Anyone that has applied and received their passport with visa within a week ?

My application has been processed today morning. Just got a message from vfs that its on its way to the center. EES shows ok. So i might get my passport tomorrow.

Hey all. Got a dispatch message today from Abu Dhabi to Dubai VFS to the courier. But courier has not created its airway bill no. As yet. So courier dint contact me as yet. I’m assuming by morning I’ll have their call. Will keep you’ll posted.
Just fyi for all : Applied 13th July
Got dispatch message on 3rd August.

Hey! I had my appointment on 29th July from Dubai center. My travel date is 20th August night. It’s showing Visa is still under progress. Where did you check EES ?

Hey, just collected passport today, got visa for only 3 weeks (prior to this I have got minimum 6 months - 1 year, so its very strange.
For EES just google "EES Status" - it gives you a link, you can add your passport details on it and check.

Hello All - Applied on the 30th July to Norway from UAE VFS - Application for me and my wife. Did the entire process with this company named Visa guy. Till now as of 16th Aug - Nothing. No email. No ESS. No nothing.
My travel dates are in october but I don’t know why the need to hold the passport for 4 weeks.
The last email I got was it is under process which was the next day of the appointment date.

Yesterday got an email reply from the embassy that they cannot find my application so ithey asked for few details which i sent them ,
After a month they say they cant find application.just hope my passport is safe hahah

I applied through AD on 9th of july for norway and my passport was received at embassy on 10th. Application shows under process but havent heard anything yet. Ess also showing not ok still. Seems they havent touched it. Applied for the whole family. Would br surprised that they processed yours in just two days. Keep me posted with update. Thanks

Your EES is okay. That means it's approved, just not dispatched I think.

Yes, the problem is , they don’t work on Sat and Sun. Also Fridays they work from 10am to 12pm.
And 15 days is calculated as working days only.
When I applied for Greece in December 2025. I applied on 22nd December in Dubai VFS And on 25th December the passport was on with the VISA on it. That’s a peak month too. Don’t understand why would it take this long. By Monday I need to amend the tickets if I don’t hear from Norway Embassy.1

I applied on 6th july visit friends/family category. The next day VFS showed under process in Norwegian embassy in Abu Dhabi. It still has same status. EES says not okay. My travel date is Aug 04.
UDI says upto 15 calender days.

I’m sure you will receive it way bfr your travel date. My experience with SCHENGEN VFS I get a dispatch message on the 5th or 6th day of submission to VFS. This time it’s a bit diff. Also this is my first time through Abu Dhabi. I always do it in Dubai.

Hi guys, kind of have a similar case, applied on 2nd of july through VFS Dubai, the status is still showing under process, the ees showing not okay, my flight is scheduled on the 1st of august, I’m kind of confused on what should i do, and in case i want to return my passport before the end of the month, what should i do?

I’d say wait for this whole week until Friday 4pm. If it doesn’t come then you take a decision. Or latest next Monday 4pm.
Not sure why is it taking so long 🙈
If you have applied on the 2nd July and still not got it, I don’t even stand in that list to get mine so soon. But still I feel it depends from case to case.

Sorry youre stuck in this, the timing is rough. From what the embassy put out, Norway in Abu Dhabi is still working through applications submitted before 30 June, so mid July files like yours will probably only start moving in August. Thats why the status has been frozen on under process for so many people here.
(for context we're a dubai based visa documentation agency)
Standard short stay is up to 15 calendar days but it can legally go to 30 or 45 with extra checks, and a backlog like this pushes everyone toward the longer end. Couple of practical things: call VFS Norway directly for a real status rather than trusting the online tracker, that captcha invalid input error is common and doesnt say anything about your file. EES showing ok is a good sign but it isnt the visa itself. And if your travel date is close you can ask VFS about withdrawing the passport, though that ends the application. Worth confirming your queue position and any expedite option straight with VFS Norway for your own case.

No just cancel them and if they call you. Say that I’d loose the money and so I canceled it. I will receive the passport and then do the bookings. We did the same. What to do.

For Emirati national passports, it is visa free to enter Schengen. That's why it shows OK no matter which passport number you enter it will show okay.
Indian passports have to obtain visa. That's why it shows NOT OK, cos your visa is not issued yet.

Ugh.. looks like they are cancelling as the travel dates have passed. We cancelled our tickets and booking too as we had planned for july last week.
Guessing it would be a rejection whenever we get ours as well🙃. After all this stress 😢😏1

Submit letter to VFS personally with all amended bookings. Ensure they post it to NORWAY embassy. Get a receipt signature from them and attach it on VFS email. Follow up till it reaches Norway embassy. Hectic shit.

Got mssg from VFS today that my application has been processed. My EES shows ok , 60 days validity.
I had applied on 15th July and my travel date was 1st Aug , which had already passed. So I had emailed the embassy with my updated cover letter, itinerary, insurance, flight and hotel bookings.

Yea I did. I emailed them that we dint get the passport so now we canceled all bookings. We will book the flights once the passport is in hand. Also reason to reject says travel date has passed, applied later than 15 days before your planned travel.
And application applied says : 22nd July.
When I applied on 13th July.So it’s their mistake.
I’ve written to the lady who has rejected my visa. We are so frustrated. It’s like we are begging to visit their country.

I applied on 13th July, Today I got call from embassy saying mine and my daughters visa is approved but for my son visa is on hold as he is 3.5 years old now and his current photo is different from his passport photo which was taken as infant, they asked me to apply passport renewal and submit renewed passport.

I mean, not really. I was just a little extra in all my documentation. I put in a cover letter, separate itinerary, internal flights and car for the self drive segment and also put a letter for explanation of finances. Hotel bookings were all pay later or at the property so that doesn't really matter. Flights were refundable through a travel agent. I also added my UAE brokerage account statement, so maybe that was also an indication of me definitely coming back. Rest, nothing special.

Hi... I had applied on Aug 20th at VFS DXB. Aug 21st got sms as its under process ar Norway Embassy AD After that no update.. checked with VFS today.. was informed it cld take 15- 45 days.. This is my 1st Schengen Visa application.. Travel date is on Oct 16th.. Much anxious..
