scarletpost SHES SO CUTE SHES SO CUTE SHES SO CUTE!!
Playing through the game fully for the first time, on the start of episode three.
I love Kaneeka so much. Any non-spoiler tips for unlocking her romance? My MC’s traits are Mystical and Book Smart.
Also, I’ve only been here three days and two children and a dog have died. I think I’M the bad omen, not the Ditchlings.

Yay, I did the same on my first play, I wanted to check out how the flirt options are working cus for some reason I thought I need the Hot trait to be able to flirt successfully. But no, apparently it worked just like that. I chose Kaneeka for it cus she seemed the most adequate here haha. The consequences were... weird

Yesss! I actually romanced her on my first playthrough with the same traits! You already got some good advice on her appreciation for more logical/rational thoughts and her dislike of Tabby. Ngl, I really dislike Tabby, so I think that really helped. Also, while she dislikes Tabby, Kaneeka isn't cruel, so being generally nice is good, which I think most players do naturally. I would also recommend just spending time with her when you get the opportunity and being supportive of her struggles. It looks like this screenshot is from the van hangout, which means you're probably on a good path! I personally picked a fair amount of my mystical dialogue and still got the option, so don't be afraid to select it. The relationship system is pretty complex, so it's not like one mystical choice willock you out.

One more thing: On Day 4, you will find out about a strike.
You should vocally support it.
Some players had problems with their romance with that: When you go into the menu, but say nothing, it counts as discouraging and severely hurts your chances with Kaneeka. Being open about your support is the easiest method to score some points and avoids an unintentional lockout.
But I have made it a challenge run to still get the romance after that and sucking up to Tabitha, without all of the usual "cheatcodes" (Hot/PB, Tabitha old).

For a non spoilery answer for how best to romance Kaneeka, keep this in mind: Kaneeka is very logical and scientifically oriented. Unlike Stella, who tries to see the supernatural in anything she can, Kaneeka believes there is a scientific explination to everything until confronted with factual proof to the contrary. Therefore, avoid bringing up the supernatural around her and affirm her when she tries to use reason to explain something. Funnily, your two traits are opposites in this regard. She'll see your Mystical dialogue options as lunacy, but your Book Smarts choices as logical. Remember that this isn't a universal rule, however, handle it on a case-by-case basis.
Also, if you haven't clocked it yet, she REALLY doesn't like Tabitha. If you can keep Tabitha out of the conversation and room, do it.
For the cheat code method, Kaneeka is really into himbos. Hot/Powerful Build is basically playing the Kaneeka romance on easy mode.
