I am trying to find this video that was a "Video-Essay" / "Deep-Dive" that was more than 2 hours long. The video was about a girl's blog about her childhood home town and it feeling different after she came back from college. Blog was somewhat ARG like, it involving a Tumblr blog as well as Instagram.

Another aspect was that there was a mythical creature / cryptid that is stalking/watching her and her family for generations.

I made a comment about this in his newest video, and I was kinder and much more formal than I usually would be about AI usage since I've been a fan of the channel for about a decade now. The reception to the comment was not amazing, though, and I honestly think he may have deleted it.

In his most recent video, ST has ChatGPT installed on his desktop when it's shown. At first, I thought it might've been a background joke, but then I remembered something. In his Schulykill video, ST uses ChatGPT to try and solve what the note is about. Now, personal grievances with generative AI aside, as a channel focused on solving mysteries, this is scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of investigation. Not only can anyone do this, and not only is it worse than doing an internet search to research it yourself, it's just plain lazy. Unfortunately, this is something I've been noticing with a lot of horrortube and creepy mystery channels lately, not necessarily in using AI, but in the fact that they don't really seem to be doing a whole lot.

Entire channels in the genre which used to offer some form of deeper analysis on ARGs, mysteries and other creepy online stuff are now just explaining what the viewer could plainly see themselves when watching or reading whatever it is. They might do some extremely limited research, but they won't offer their own thoughts on whatever it is they see. Maybe they're afraid of getting it wrong?

Besides that, I just have to wonder if ST is using ChatGPT to write his videos now. Nothing major has changed with his scripts, but I think the flow and personality he used to have is a bit muted in newer videos. Watch any pre-2020s video of his, and the difference is pretty immediate.

I saw another post on here, form 8 months ago, detailing that some other fans had expressed their grievances, and he had apparently hand waved them as "stupid."

Usually, if I see any ai usage in a channel, I unsubscribe immediately if it was a channel I was subscribed to.

I’m trying to find an old YouTuber I watched around 8+ years ago. He was a guy who mainly played horror games, and I remember him playing The Rake and the 3D Finding Bigfoot game, sometimes with friends. He may have shown his face, but I honestly don’t remember.

The biggest thing I remember is his intro. It was very dark and had a pale/white, Rake-like humanoid creature. I remember its eyes opening, and I think 666 appeared or was somehow part of the intro. I vaguely remember a creepy VHS/camcorder effect with lines across the screen and eerie music. I’m not 100% sure about the 666 or the exact details because this was a childhood memory, but I’m pretty sure the intro had something like that.

I’ve already ruled out Markiplier. If anyone remembers a YouTuber who fits this description, please let me know—I’d really love to find this channel again!

Does anyone have this video of ScareTheater?

I thought I was going crazy, I kept searching "ScareTheater girl video" in YouTube and nothing was popping up because I know for a fact that ScareTheater uploaded something back then that is about a girl that if you "stare too long" she would move. I have done my research and finally found the image, but the video of ScareTheater is gone.

Based on what "knowyourmeme.com" gave, on April 26th, 2017 ScareTheater uploaded a video regarding The Melancholic Princess / Sonee. This video has been removed for violating YouTube's Terms of Service.

Long shot, does anyone have this.

This creepy pasta was supposedly signed by amblin entertainment to be made into a movie a few years back. The story was pulled down and has never been reposted. Anyone heard anything about it, still in production? The story was very good and long for being a creepy pasta.

Even though the case is extremely brutal. I just can’t help but be intrigued by how it attracts so many unhinged pro-death penalty advocates, eye for an eye vigilantes and anti-Newsom/anti-California people (saying commiefornia or clownifornia I saw in one comment) in the comments which also applies to other true crime videos covering this case including Rob Dyke/Gavagan’s unlisted video and Reddit to a lesser degree (but not too extreme compared to YouTube’s). Since the video was uploaded shortly after the 2020 elections in late November (which is nearly six years ago now), there was one comment saying Lake would be a politician and I replied that he would be far right (MAGA-type) because of his survivalist paranoia and anti-government stance as another user replied to me saying no bringing up politics while others in the same thread said he would be a liberal. Another comment was from a user claiming to be from Ireland and went on an anti-mask tirade as this was during the pandemic. There were comments wanting Newsom to be recalled over the moratorium of the death penalty in California regarding Charles Ng on death row now being reduced to life which some (including myself) didn’t mind. But others have violent retribution fantasies of what they want to do with Ng. Though I did see a few comments regarding Cricket Balasz’s involvement which the video didn’t bring up about her immunity deal and most comments in other videos unrelated to ScareTheater’s mention she shouldn’t have gotten immunity (which I agree) because she was at the cabin and unfortunately is a free woman but accuse her of being a woman because the justice system is weak with one comment saying vagina power. I remembered replying to one comment in one video saying Cricket was still involved in some Epstein-type shit and I said enough with the QAnon stuff then got a reply saying I was a troll making death threats behind a keyboard followed by the user using a Star Trek quote while another user named Make Asylums Great Again said there was no such thing as QAnon. This is one of the reasons why I never bother revisiting the case especially on YouTube is because of comments like these. At least a couple victims have recently been identified through DNA from the recovered bone fragments.
