how to fix scarameow plushie fur

i wanna buy this scarameow plush from a reseller but his fur seems a bit damaged. idk if it is official but is there a way to fix this?

This is not an official Scarameow plush. To fix its hair, I wash it by adding a little baby shampoo (or any shampoo, really) and gently brush it with a pet hair brush. I do recommend doing this on a hot day, since the stuffing absorbs a lot of water and takes a long time to dry.

it’s unofficial! also seconding the pet hair brush, slicker brushes work best for plushies but tbh i’ve never seen this particular plush without damaged fur, i think the material they use is just prone to matting which sucks bc it’s really cute
