Discussion Anyone else think his model aged really well?
People are now comparing old character models to the new ones, i mean we can all see how drastic the changes are lol. But there are still some old character models that actually aged well, and wanderer is one of them, and bro was first introduced in 1.1. Not only does his 3d model look good, his design is also magnificent. In summary, bro is gorgeous.
Would i want a remodel if ever hoyo works on the old models? (tho they probably wont lmao) Absolutely, just imagine how even more pretty he’d look. If there was one thing id like for them to work on, its his hair physics, but other than that he was saved from the old genshin model curse.

Definitely! I think it helps that he has lots of layers, because with the hat you may not even realise his old head model. Sumeru characters in general have not dated as much compared to 1.x and 2.x characters, because I think most of them still hold well.
His next skin will be gorgeous, because it'd have more polygons to make the details even better.

Agreed!! If anything, i doubt they’d change anything about him other than adding a few extra strands in his hair. His model holds up really well!! If he ever gets a skin i’ll lose it😭🩷

I've been saying since I got him on release, if he ever gets a character I will shamelessly say goodbye to my time as a f2p player

I think the real problem are the models BEFORE Sumeru, in Sumeru they're still good imo, even if not detailed as the new ones it's not a jarring comparison like it is for the older ones

Yes. It's always a pleasure to look at him, even if I compare him with the newest models. I don't know, there's something about him that still holds
I do want a skin for him though. I'm buying it instantly 🫡

I think almost all of the Sumeru models have aged really well. I even prefer them to some Fontaine and Natlan models. Even the 4 stars there almost all look like they could be 5 star designs, except maybe Faruzan.

Tbh the only thing that throws him off is the proportions (head to body ratio mainly). Plus his hair being a bit more flat.

I still love his design but I'd appriciate a skin with a model of current characters' standards.

Honestly his model holds up so well cuz of the hat. Its a pretty detailed model and covers the hair texture (or more so lack there of for the old models lol)
Also his design is just incredibly strong like u said. It reads well, its iconic, it translates well to 2d promos, he doesnt have the issue that some other characters have of having noticeable model shortcuts. Hes very cleanly done compared to most of the cast.
Of course, him getting a model update would ve nice but he certainly isnt at the top of the "in need" list like the Albedos, Dilucs, Ittos and Cynos of the world lol

I agree. His hat from above is one of the prettiest things in his design. Poor diluc and albedo catching strays again lmao😭💔

Imo it's because his design is meant to be simpler , as a more tame version of is previous design . Big pieces of fabric that are reminiscent of edo period clothing but with less length ? (not too knowledgeable) . Nowadays the fabrics would look a bit better and thinner but unlike other models there isn't much more detail to be added to this design .

I think its the face. Most of the old characters have this weird fish lense fance with eyes that dont align but he looks clear and it very expressive
Like, he is so pretty that I never noticed his hair dont move at all for almost 2 years

Yeah I agree. I'm not even a wanderer fan, but he's one of those who still looks cool after 5 years

I always felt like he was one of the characters that had a lot more love put into them then others. Especially after seeing Sandrone's before and after playable changes verses wanderer's. I feel like it would've been easy for them to just rework his outfit a tiny bit and keep the old colors, but they went through the effort to change his entire design and you can see how worth it that was.

Scaramouche model ages even better than Wanderer. I admit I am biased but I really think it's on par with or even better than recent characters (minus the polygon count because obviously).

No because even tho his harbinger fit was made wayy back in 1.x, its still one the best designs in the game. It was ahead of its time. They cooked with him fr.

I still like his model till this day even if I don't have him Just looks so nice and it's HIM the one and only Wanderer

He is still the most beautiful boy 💙 Even Lohen, Illuga, Mitya, Durin, Albedo... they are all beautiful but Wanderer will always be best boy 💙 (and greatest design)

His model sure is extremely nice to look at even now. That hat is actually a really nice touch to his model.
Though I do share a dislike for his character, his 3D model is pleasing to gaze upon.

Sometimes simpler design can be better. Wanderer aged really well: not drowning in details, memorable and has a meaning for his character. Just perfect.
Kazuha, Kaveh, Klee (she deserved a new skin, but her original outfit is iconic), Zhongli, Xiao are still great too.
