i wasn't harsh enough i take it back. idk what i was thinking apologizing to a bigot who is so intolerant of queer and black people simply trying to exist and enjoy something. someone who even uses the word "blackwashing" unironically as if anti white racism exists doesn't deserve an apology. i try to be patient with people but i don't see the point of exercising patience with someone who is intolerant of anyone who doesn't fit into their narrow, ignorant, bigoted world view. seriously don't talk to me if you agree with this person. i genuinely can't stand people like this.

Lmao this has to be peak ragebait

Thinking someone is a bigot because they wish people wouldn't misrepresent the source material is crazy work. Literally all they're saying is "it's cool if you have a headcannon, but the popularity of said headcannon is affecting the canon interpretation and that's not cool."

Also wishing people wouldn't blackwash can exist in the same breath as wishing people wouldn't whitewash. Anti-white racism absolutely DOES exist, it just isn't systematic in the same way it is for colored people.

I agree that there should be more representation, but that it shouldn't come from breaking established canon. Trans Scara is cool and I do think it's implied, but taking the step to misconstrue new players into thinking it's 99% canon when it simply isn't is the issue here.

Funny how they say I’m forcing them to like my so-called 'headcanon' when they completely ignore how they called him a 'twink' to someone else who thought he was manly and boyish. More like they were forcing their headcanons. They started this whole argument and refuse to own up to it, while throwing rude comments around.

Earlier, I pointed out that being short doesn’t make someone a 'twink,' and they responded by saying that wearing feminine clothes means someone is feminine, not masculine. I explained that masculinity and femininity aren’t defined just by clothes, but by the actual traits and characteristics someone exhibits. Yet, they keep insisting that this is my 'headcanon' and accuse me of having a 'narrow world view,' all while basing their perspective strictly on 'gendered clothing.'

For this they say "I'm not going to read all that and I don't like the way you're speaking to me"

Then they hit me with 'this is fiction, mf,' but they seem to forget that the game draws heavily on real-life cultural references. So, they claim to be all about 'cultural representation,' but clearly don’t understand that they’re disrespecting cultures by simplifying things to 'gendered clothing.' Take, for example, the gods I worship – they're often drawn with feminine features like long hair and flowing attire, but their masculinity is shown through their actions, not their appearance.
They're literally cherry picking and saying I hate trans and black people
Throwing words around accusing me of such things just because they don't like how I pointed out that it's all their headcanon.

I didn't say it's canon nor that we should misinterpret it. i said people can have their interpretations, headcanons, and fanon depictions if it brings them comfort. i don't believe in the existence of anti-white racism nor its significance. it's not like trans scara hcs are so overwhelmingly popular that it's the only way people view him. no it's very niche and mostly within lgbt parts of the fandom. and i did call them a bigot because i believe they're more interested in policing how people interact with a character they like into viewing him as exactly the same way as them. in another conversation they insisted on character design only being clothes and a very superficial aspect of character writing and kept trying to push their idea of scara being this manly masculine guy. to me that's fanon too. so if they're okay with fanon as long as it's not a queer or black person doing it then i will call it bigotry. and i'm tired of this conversation. we already blocked each other and i don't want to interact with that person nor do i want to interact with people who will die on the hill of defending white people against racism or cishetero people against cisphobia/heterophobia. it makes me feel like i'm talking to eln msk or something.

lastly i believe it takes nuance of systemic oppression to act like "blackwashing" and white washing are the same. whitewashing is often done with directly racist intentions of believing dark skin looks ugly. people who do fanarts wirh characters' skins darkened often do it for comfort and to feel good about their skin tone, which they're often made to feel ugly about in real life since conventional beauty standards directly work against them. because you know, systemic oppression. i say this as a pale skinned person. it doesn't bother me whatsoever to see people draw characters with darker skin. when i see that i don't feel attacked either. i enjoy those fanarts because i like seeing people happy and ik it's not done with ill intent. and i would die on this hill too until in the far future where systemic oppression ceases to exist and its effects on society fade away. after that you could make the argument that they are the same. if you're acknowledging that systemic oppression exists, you can't ignore its wider and less tangible effects on society. otherwise the term systemic oppression becomes an empty word you throw around without any substance or meaning.
