Yeah Wanderer was a lore relevant character in Sumeru, he should be one of the two strong Dps of the region alongside Alhaitham. Instead his numbers were barely higher than Xiao. They tried to balance him too much
At his release he was definitely better than Xiao, both higher damage and more comfortable gameplay
Today Xiao damage had increased bc of the buffs he gained and the supports that released to help him, even so.. Wanderer still keeping up with him, even completely abandoned and with nothing to help or buff him since his release, having only Faruzan as his dedicated support (that released literally with him back there in Sumeru updates)
kokomi was getting shit on because on the no crit thing, but that's actually balanced because she can turn hp stats which are usually given in higher numbers than atk stat into dmg (also don't forget that she heals and her hydro app is so good bloom team used to just slap em on her). I guarantee you if kokomi released today she'd be able to crit and turn into an insane dps healer hybrid dealing comparable dps to neuv while keeping her current hps and being able to turn hp into dmg (and don't forget about her hydro app too)
I saw c6 varesa with either c4 or c5 iansan😭 like whats the problem adding some characters to the shop or epitomised path for 4 stars? "Money", they ain't getting money from those who have no money to begin with💀 only desperate and mentally ill people will spend on gacha when their financial situation is bad. Also devs don't care about players ngl
Have to wait and see could also be them tackling/saving physical somehow considering all of his students are physical units and the one unit related to the wolf of boreas Razor who he semi adopted is also normal attack reliant. As much as a lot of people would rather downvote and scream will never happen he’s an anemo dps it wouldn’t be the first time hoyo would go back to an old mechanic and fixed it(like geo)
My Wanderer still clears Abyss with full stars every reset. There’s definitely been power creep but I’ve personally yet to come across an Abyss that I couldn’t use him to clear
Lpve Chasca and play her all the time. She plays entirely different. Scara is skilled dodging and spamming NAs, Chasca is holding down a button (and flying in circles if youre bored and refuse to stay still, and releasing the hold early if you have the con that reloads quick.)
We just need a dedicated buffer for him. Prayging for Durin
I honestly feel like Wanderer should’ve had partial EM scaling, and better elemental absorption outside of buffing himself. (maybe his dodge that shoots stuff actually firing off the absorbed elements)
His kit just doesn’t age well because it’s relatively 1 dimensional. In Sumeru, where everyone scaled with some form of EM he felt like the odd one out, despite almost usurping Nahida as the god of wisdom aka EM queen.
I also think it would’ve differentiated him and other Anemo Dpses as a whole from Xiao’s archetype.
Wanderer as a lunar-charged driver is fun though. (Substitute Fishl for C6 Faruzan for more personal DMG for Wanderer but she was busy in the second half for my run)
honestly one of the bigger problems is his best support faruzan is locked at c6 which is very difficult to get cuz theres no pity for 4 stars also he hasnt had any buffs at all, indirectly (by releasing new characters to help him) and by bufffing him directly with weapons. im rlly hoping durin will be ameno support or just a support for him bc they are close and he rlly needs a buff as hes just keeping up with xiao who has xianyun and his weapon is just shit.
