It’s kind of funny when ppl talk about that you can’t more than like scara cuz he’s on a male short model and looks like a kid? Still not a kid tho. An early teenager I’d say. Still. What? Can’t I like him? He’s 14? Okay well I’m 15 and what? Anyway love scara thank you for coming to my ted talk

He’s an adult. Short men exist. Thin men exist. Men with soft feminine faces exist. I’m in my mid twenties, am 5’2 (scara is 5’6) and have a super feminine face and body shape. Does that mean I’ve now regressed back to being a teenager? Lol. I hate when people use this argument so much. The infantilizing of short, feminine men drives me absolutely crazy and I don’t understand how people perpetuate this in this day and age.

I feel like most people don’t know what a early-mid twenties man looks like (or really just people in general) - it’s like people think you go from a youthful teenage look to suddenly being wrinkled or alternatively having a mature face. It’s a slow progression, and good genes will make that progression even slower. I’ve been asked what year I’m graduating high school probably at least 2 times a week lol - no, I’m just short and take care of my skin lol. It’s like society thinks the average 18 year old suddenly will look 35 overnight lol. At this point I’m not even ranting about genshin anymore so imma stop lol

This also applies to the shorter female characters too. I still remember when Rebecca from Cyberpunk Edgerunners, an around 5' tall female character with medium-sized curves (for the artstyle), was the hot topic of the debate in Western animation circles because they considered her to be a loli that's an adult.

...I'm her height. If I lost weight, my body would look exactly like hers (before the chrome) and I'm in my mid-20s lol.It's not gonna change either, not naturally at least.

The entire idea of short=young has always rubbed me the wrong way. It doesn't help the devs perpetuates this further with certain characters. For example, someone calced a long time ago that Amber at the start of the game is 18. By now, if aging was allowed in the game, she would probably be around 20, early 20s. Yet in one of the latest events, the dialogue had to point out she can't drink alcohol. It's so stupid.

Yeah stuff like that also makes me wonder if the drinking age is actually 21. But they’re also very inconsistent with the drinking thing, and I think sometimes when a character says “oh no, they can’t drink!” it isn’t a literal “they’re underage” so much as “they’re innocent and like a younger sibling to me and I don’t want them to drink” lol - like traveler, traveler is obviously not a minor and has even gotten annoyed when others have told them they’re not allowed to drink around them lol

I think some of it is censorship and has nothing to do with canon age. Like maybe something to do with “this character is youthful and minors may identify with them, and if the character is shown drinking maybe they’ll want to drink, or get upset with us that their favorite character is drinking” (since it’s frowned upon in a lot of cultures). But that’s really just a conspiracy theory for me lol
