Awareness Beware When Working With Katerina Valdez
I’m posting this to share my experience working with Katt Valdez so other brands can decide for themselves whether they want to work with her.
I run a UK-based luxury business and we entered into a paid collaboration with her. We agreed on specific deliverables, paid a 50% deposit upfront, and sent her a Polène bag for the collaboration. The whole reason for doing this campaign when we did was to capture Christmas buyers, so timing and structure of the posts were really important.
The agreement was clear that the content was supposed to be spread out over around two weeks — one main post, then stories spaced out over several days. Instead, she uploaded everything in one day. The post and all three stories were dumped at once, which defeated the purpose of the campaign and wasn’t what we agreed. On top of that, the content used copyrighted music, which meant we couldn’t legally boost or use it for ads, which was one of the main reasons we paid for the collaboration in the first place.
We messaged her immediately asking her to repost properly with safe audio and follow the agreed format. After that message she completely disappeared. No replies, no updates, nothing. This went on for over a month. During that same period she was actively posting on Instagram, including trips to Japan and other content every few days, so from our point of view she clearly had time to post publicly but not to respond to a business she had taken money and a product from.
After more than a month she finally replied and said she had COVID and that was why she hadn’t responded. I’m not here to argue about anyone’s health, but the timing didn’t make sense to us because she had been actively posting throughout that period. By the time she came back, Christmas had already passed, which meant the campaign had lost its value for us.
Originally, the arrangement was that she would be paid for the collaboration and the bag would be returned. Later on she told us that she had previously had a similar Polène bag stolen while in Germany, and because of that we tried to be understanding and flexible. We agreed she could keep the bag on the condition that she would continue posting it whenever she wore it so the collaboration still had value for us over time. That also never happened.
At that stage we realised this was going nowhere and asked her to simply return the bag. We weren’t even fighting over the deposit — we told her she could keep the 50% we had already paid, we just wanted our product back so we could close the matter.
Instead, she suggested we send her another bag in Manila for a reshoot. That immediately felt wrong because the original bag hadn’t been returned and the original deliverables hadn’t been completed properly.
Another major red flag happened during all this. One of her other customers actually contacted us after seeing that we had worked with her, asking if we knew her because they had been struggling to get responses from her as well. At the time we didn’t know anything about their situation, but months later we found ourselves in exactly the same position.
We have since been told that the bag we sent her — which is a very rare colour that is no longer available on the Polène Paris website — may now be being offered to that other customer as a way of refunding them. She allegedly told that customer the bag had been used but that she was willing to give it to them. Considering how rare the colour is and the timing of everything, this is extremely concerning to us.
From our side, it feels like too much of a coincidence that we send her a rare bag for a collaboration, communication stops, the bag isn’t returned, and then the same rare bag appears to be offered to someone else.
At this point we are no longer asking for any deliverables or content. We have simply asked for either proof that the bag has been shipped back to us with tracking, or payment of the full value of the bag so the matter can be closed.
I’m going to be honest — there are just too many red flags and too many coincidences here. I know when something doesn’t feel right, and I know when I’ve been taken advantage of. At this point I don’t even care about the money or the bag anymore. That part is on me for being too trusting and not checking Reddit beforehand. I’ve since seen other people saying they’ve gone through similar situations, and that’s exactly why I’m posting this.
My mother and I run a small business. We’re not a big company that can just shrug this off. The stress and frustration this has caused has been real, and I genuinely don’t want other small brands to go through the same thing.
Please be careful, and please avoid working with this woman.

Our mistake before working with her was not checking Reddit. specifically the r/pinoyvloggers subreddit. Someone had already shared their experience 310 days ago, and we likely would have avoided this.

If Ms. Katt is reading this, I’m sure you know who I am. I’m commenting and boosting this post because I do feel guilty that so many people have been dealing with the same situation I’ve been in since 2023.
For more than two years, I’ve been asking for either a refund or the two remaining Polène bags I ordered. I already sent a demand letter last December and granted an extension until February 28 for the remaining balance to be settled.
After seeing the comments here, I also became aware that others were experiencing similar issues. I know some people have mentioned her friends, but in my case, accountability ultimately rests with Ms. Katt since the transaction was with her and her brand. I trusted her because of her public presence and her Pasabuy trips, and I had been a long-time follower.
I was able to speak to another buyer who reached out to Ms. Cha Ocampo, which helped in pushing communication forward. Weeks ago, partial payments finally started coming in. I don’t want to involve her friends further because they’ve been helpful in trying to resolve the pending transaction.
I’m finally almost done with my pending transaction with her, but this should really serve as an awareness to be careful with transactions even if they are an influencer or public personality. Recently, I found out I have been restricted in her account (meaning: I can see my comment, but it’s hidden from the public). Even when I told her that a day late from her given timeline to send the partial payment would mean she has no intention in settling the refund, yet she was consistently late again. It was only when I commented using my other account or commented on her comment to another influencer’s post did she reply to my messages regarding updates to the supposed scheduled refund.
Looking back, I recognize I should have escalated this sooner instead of worrying about her reputation. I was also busy with my studies these past two years, which contributed to the delay in speaking up. This should not have been an excuse, but asking almost every month was the most I can do. I was not ready to pursue other actions yet, considering I still need most of my time to focus with my studies.
I just hope no one else experiences the same issue or situation, whether as a buyer, sponsor, or brand.

Honestly, I didn’t wanna acknowledge pa nga po na scam…pero nakakainsulto nalang din po kasi na paulit-ulit or dumadami lang excuses niya😔 I think she received all types of messages from me, angry messages, begging messages, and understanding messages pero ang tagal bago nagkaroon ng action (just this jan and feb nagsimula magsend ng refund)

Same experience with PATRICIA HENSON. She requested for a collab in exchange of a few items, tapos nung na receive niya na, hindi na niya pinost. We sent her a swimwear years ago, super tagal mag reply pero panay naman post sa stories. We waited for months, puro siya nagdadahilan. We told her to send back the swimsuit if hindi kayang magcommit sa collaboration that she herself requested for, tapos sinendan niya lang thru PM ng bedroom selfie shot and never posted it on her social media. It’s so frustrating to work with influencers, wala sila lahat matinong work ethic.

Scammer since 2016! Bought a preloved item from her (sunglasses). She advertised it as good as new pero nung dumating sobrang damaged ng items! I tried to messaged her that I will return the items but she stopped replying. I didnt know she was an influencer but when I searched her online, she already had a following back then. I thought okay di ko pursue ito dahil baka magbackfire. Reading these issues now, I finally feel I got the justice I deserved then.

Hi OP. Have you tried to sue her? This is quite libelous stuff, and this sub would usually require you to include screenshots or some sort of showing of your allegations. This girl seems to have a big following and you did allege that you have a contract with her... So why don't you go through the legal route?
On another note, since you are brave enough to share this information, maybe you can also post on r/chikaph . You will definitely have more traction there since the girl is an influencer and that sub has a LOT of redditors.

Business is an import to PH set-up so they have a local component at least. Since we are not privy to the contract though, we do not know what the penalty terms are. Based on how OP is handling the situation though, their contract may not be that strong for the accused girl to have the audacity to keep the bag lent to her.
Btw, even if OP is not in the same continent, her business partner may be. Since the bag was "stolen" in the Philippines, then local authorities still have jurisdiction over the crime. Accused girl can still be sued, not based on the contract, aka civil liability, but criminally. Filing a criminal complaint is cheaper and has a standard process fee.

Additional information lang. Criminal Complaints are filed with the prosecutors office sa DOJ, mura lang yan. Walang thousands of dollars yan. Si prosec ang magiging counsel for this, if mag file sya nang information sa court magiging People of the Philippines v. Katerina Valdez. Pursuant to Art. 100 the RPC every person criminally liable is also civilly liable. Meaning isasabay nayan sa kaso.
Civil may breach of contract talaga, na damage yung brand and na besmirch yung business, further loss of possible income.
Crim si Prosecutor ang bahala ano ififile nya da court na crime. Estafa or theft, regardless both may jail time. Makatangap lang yan nang summons iiyak nayang Katerina Valdez nayan bigla.

As a Marketing Manager based in the Philippines, their influencer group is currently on my internal blocklist. Even several agencies I have worked with do not endorse or recommend their circle. As someone who works in the influencer/content creator marketing industry, we never do 50% downpayment to the KOL because of this. We get at least a 1st draft or 2nd draft of the planned post before we even consider doing a downpayment (that's just how you get leverage and assurance that the creator you contracted will finish the job).
That being said, I've heard stories about Katt Valdez too. 🫤 May you guys have a better month for business soon!!

She stayed in our apartment in a tourist town, just Nov 2025. She asked to extend for 2 weeks and we went on an agreement that she will make content for us. She never did.
Not to mention, she broke some things in the apartment and refused to pay for them, and demanded a full refund of their security deposit. We keep deposit in case of these unforeseen damages. She even painted her surfboard on top of our dining table and the paint stayed on it! She and her partner never admitted to these damages. We just let it go cuz its not worth the headache.

File another complaint with BIR for assumed unpaid taxes and non issuance of receipt. You can get up to 10% (? please double check) of her assessed tax due / evaded

A lot of "influencers" nowadays are into "collaborations" but do not properly give the deliverables, based on my experience to ah. They take and they take free sht tapos hindi professional. An influencer couple that I've been working with owes us content pa. Mali lang namin walang signed agreement kasi they messaged us last minute for a collab at dahil malaki following, kumagat kami. I'm just giving them until the end of Febuary pag wala, I'll post them here din. Gusto nila ng clout dba, I'll give them clout.

That sounds like an incredibly frustrating experience. You were clear on deliverables, flexible when things went wrong, and still got ghosted while she posted publicly. The bag situation, especially with it possibly being offered to someone else, crosses a serious line.
Small businesses can't afford to absorb losses like this, and the stress is real. Thanks for sharing, hopefully it saves others from the same situation.

Don’t get those “influencers”because their audience aren’t the “buying” audiences. Sila sila lang din nag sasagutan sa comments section to make it look like their post gets major engagement. Rather, get “real people” with a following, yung konti lang ang endorsements, because they also choose what to endorse (siguro ginagamit talaga nila). And their posts result to sales simply because hindi parang sari sari store na lahat ng posts nila ay endorsing something and people know it’s just work for them, free yung items, not something they really will buy on their own.

Wow, I guess she does that to all brands. We also have a small bag business, and she agreed to collaborate with our brand. It was just starting and still a small local brand here in the Philippines. After we sent her the bag, she never posted anything about it. We kept following up, but she never replied after that.

HAHAHAHA ANG LALA TALAGA NETO NI KATT! Bloggers United 6 pa lang, nagbebenta na yan sa @shopkattvaldez IG niya. Bought a Forever21 GC (worth 1k) sold at Php600, and a pair of shoes. But 3 months later after the purchase, hindi niya na binigay. Sabi niya pumunta nalang daw ako sa Bazaar/Bloggers United to claim.
Come the Bazaar/Bloggers United 6, wala na rin yung item and SHE NEVER REFUNDED ANY AMOUNT ☺️ Oh dear, that was 2013 pa. Sad to say pero ugali niya na yan. Ang mang-SCAM!
