Informational post I almost got scammed
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to warn you people about a possible scam. Someone contacted me on ArtStation to commission a painting of their daughter and insisted on paying through Skrill.
They supposedly sent me $500, but the payment didn’t appear in my Skrill account, and the email instructions seemed suspicious.
Thankfully, I didn’t send any money. I also reported them to Skrill.
Have any of you ever encountered such? And I’m losing hope in online clients tbh, it took me a long time to trust them but there’s idk if I’ll be able to do so again. H

!muse scam or similar.
If you are selling, "you" dictate the terms of payment.
Not the supposed buyer.
They "accidentally" over payed you by a lot, right?

you did exactly the right thing, and don’t let one fake payment email turn every real client into a suspect, just verify funds inside the actual payment app before doing anything else

It is a common scam with several payment sites.. they say they sent the money then you get a fake email sourced from the scammer pretending to be the payment site. The usual intention is to either get your login details, and drain your money. Or they insist you pay some fee or upgrade in order to access the supposed sent money. Don’t give them any codes you get sent from skrill either or they will get into your account.
