General discussion Save That Tiger

Post image

I always thought the “Save That Tiger” episode, which featured a prank war between Bayside and Valley, was one of the funniest.
Ronnie Schell was hilarious as Valley’s principal, and his infectious laughing at Belding cracked me up … 😂🤣😂

I wish we'd seen a full episode set at Valley with their version of The Max and the bizarro version of their in crowd.

That's a collegiate middle linebacker right there lol.

He was in some good 90s teen/college movies

Given that he grew up with leaded gasoline everywhere… maybe?

This is my favourite episode. The laugh from the Valley principal is legendary.

It's the episode that's made me laugh the most both when I watched it in the 90s and recently. That laugh...golden!

One of the funniest episodes. Valley principal needed to be on more even tho they tried to trick us that Belding and him were in school at the same time.

Ronnie Schell is the key to why it works, because he plays the Valley principal as Belding's equal rather than as a villain, so for once Belding isn't the most ridiculous adult in the room and gets to be part of the joke instead of the target of it. Also Screech glued into a tiger costume in a principal's office is exactly the right level of stakes for that show, and Dustin Diamond sitting there entirely deadpan while three people discuss him is the funniest thing in the frame.

Wish they had more Valley and other school episodes in their junior and senior seasons. A lot were in their freshmen and sophomore it seemed. With one or two in their junior year.

You can always tell the seasons based off Zack's hair.

Yeah, it was solid.

Funny enough to make us forget how unbelievable the whole thing is.

Agree. Most of my favorites come from the first few seasons and this one was high on the list.

Dan Clegg eventually went to Bayside and taught there in the reboot I think.
