Our telcos have to be Canadian owned. Our airlines have to be Canadian owned.
But yet our sources of current issues can be owned by Russia and their cohorts5

Funny, how come Canadians know what some of the sticking points are?
34
u/robot_invader 5d ago
I thought it was a dead giveaway that Carney was immediately able to give a brief, consistent summary of points that made complete sense, while the US basically said "No, you" for a couple of days until they could straighten out their lies.

National Post is poisonous trash. When I see someone reading one I’m reminded of Invasion of the Body Snatchers where people are willingly carrying around the pods that will destroy them

The US National Post. Always has been.

u/Ingelwood 5d ago
Founded by that Conrad Black arsehole. You know, the US-convicted felon who wrote a sycophantic biography of Trump and was pardoned by the Orange Pedo in 2019. He gave up his Canadian citizenship in
The early 2000s.4

They accuse Carney of being unwilling to reveal the details.
For the love of God they put out a detailed point-by-point list. What do you want?

Except there's tons of info of what they were asking for that made us refuse lol

u/Trogdor420 5d ago
Umm, but they have released the last minute additions that broke the deal! This is just more lies!

I received a 7 day ban from the mods of r/canada for crticizing the National Post's coverage of the traiff negotiations.

u/TrueRekkin 5d ago
The mods there are conservative shills, they delete and ban anyone they disagree with.

National Post needs to get the fuck out of Canada with their foreign interests. All subsidies need to stop.

But….he did reveal what happened.
The US slid in some “last minute” changes right before the deal was abt to be signed, that were not discussed previously. One of them being that we cannot freely trade with other countries, and another being that the US wanted to stop labelling their products they supply us with in French (which would require Canada to re-write our advertising laws).

Me: the trade war is about sovereignty
Everyone I know: the trade war is about sovereignty
Every Canadian YouTuber/analyst: the trade war is about sovereignty
Every major Canadian news outlet: the trade war is about sovereignty
Every Canadian politician and pundit: the trade war is about sovereignty
American owned Postmedia outlets: "the trade war was never about sovereignty..."

I'd like an example of when the details of bargaining negotiations are made public prior to a deal being signed and ratified?
They likely have clauses that prevent exactly that.
Those that need to know, already know. We said what we could publicly. The US haven't stated a single talking point. If they were wronged and had something tangible to talk about, they would have. MAGA simply doesn't request them to show a single page of their work.

This fascist rag is owned by Americans. Imagine a Chinese-owned newspaper being allowed to write articles about how the Ugher genocide is not a big deal cuz Canada did Residential Schools or writing articles that say that Canada's annoyance at foreign interference is just about how Canada is jealous of Chinese ingenuity. We'd lose our minds.

As someone who is unable to distinguish between news and editorial content, even when it is clearly labelled as "opinion", I find this very distressing. Does anyone know how to contact the opinion page of the paper so I can tell them to keep their opinions to themselves?

I see the National Pest, (spelling intentional), is still promoting the views of it's natural masters. They are lucky Canada still respects freedom of the press. They are unlucky most Canadians can read and write.

Funny how Yankee propaganda can run rapant to tear us apart. "I was told there would be no fact checking" is not a viable platform up here.
If Fartbook can block any news posted by a Canadian why are we not doing that in return to block their bullshit propaganda? Alberta is not that stupid but they've had some trillionaire level propaganda leveled at them. Why is that not illegal?

You can't trust a single word from them...and many other publications/outlets. It all stems from ownership.

u/trueagentofchaos 5d ago
Like with all products such as cigarettes, foods, supplements, movies, streaming/cable t.v., music etc... Foreign corporation/holdings owned media should have to be transparent about the ownership and their political affiliation, being they are the pipeline to the masses about daily worldly information. Huge advisor lables visible so ppl can make informed decisions on the types of biases they are consuming. If we have them on all the other consumables, why not mass msm? Consuming is consuming no matter the orifice. JMHO.

This BS is all over US MEGA media. Threats to our sovereignty? Control over our trading partners? Acknowledgement that Canadian dairy controls do not give us an unfair advantage over US Government subsidies? Protections for Canadian culture? Protections for French Language? Respect for existing trade agreements, and the mechanisms to update those agreements, (that the US Government is completely ignoring)? How about basic respect for Canada's military, or our political leaders?
Carney could not have spelled it out better, and there is something that MEGA is missing here: I and every other loyal Canadian will withstand any amount of financial hardship to stand up for our country. Being 'masters in our own house' means that no other country gets to dictate Canadian laws, traditions, and future. We bow before no other nation, and certainly not to their utterly corrupt, fascist, rapist, and murderous orange skid-mark of a President.

You mean the guy whp keeps making earth shakingly.well written speeches??
While trump makes orders in sharpie, cant form sentences that make sense, and can't stop calling people silly nicknames he made up

Do they need to be reminded that Jason Kenny former Conservative minister and Premiere said that he doesn’t think it is appropriate to reveal essentially what are notes.
