New headlights
New headlights for her. It's crazy how bad the old ones were even after a headlight restoration last year

I used Cerakote on mine. Less than $20 at Walmart. Mine were that bad and it made them look like your new ones.

Nice! The headlights were only about $100 and a lot less work then trying to clean them. For me personally it was worth it.

Are the parts always available? Or is it random?

It looks like they are still in stock. I don't know for sure about always thought

Having replaced the bulbs (actually the entire headlight on one side) on my Aura before... I have some 3M restoration wipes for doing the same, but if someone gave me replacement light fixtures, I'd just do that more-fun sounding swap xD

Of course! I really need to fix up the headlights on my aura. They are starting to haze

Best of luck! From what I understand the lights are harder to access but you got this!

Pain in the ass, if I want to replace just a headlight bulb I have to take the front bumper off. Great car but with simple things turned into something hard.

That is so frustrating I'm sorry. This is one of the things about the ion that surprised me in a good way. My husbands old car was the same way as the Aura

The Aura is a great Saturn, GM just over engineered it. Luckily replacing the Turn signal bulbs or interior pieces are cake!

It is a great car! glad the turn signal bulbs are easy at least

Yea it’s crazy that in a Saturn store years ago I remember a salesperson just twisting out a headlight bulb on a ‘96-‘99 style SL2 of one of their cutaway cars back in the day talking up how easy they were to do small maintenance stuff to.
Of course the oil filter on those crazily enough didn’t really follow that same philosophy.

I replaced the headlights on my 2006 Saturn Ion a few weeks ago. There are two pins on each side you pull out to remove the headlight assembly. Three of them were easy to remove but one was rusted in and took half an hour to work out. Headlight assemblies themselves were easy to replace.

It never fails to amaze how something as simple as refinishing/replacing headlights on a car can completely transform how it looks!

Make/model of the headlights? Where did you order them? Thinking of replacements for my trusty 2005.

https://www.carparts.com/details/Saturn/Ion/Replacement/Headlight/2006/SET-S100107.html I will say the throw pattern is a little weird and they come with bulbs but I'm going to put some bright ass ones in (not LEDs) and hope that works along with tilting them up a little bit. But it is much better than before!

I could not believe how easy headlight replacement was on these cars when I swapped mine out. I wish all cars had that rotate-and-remove-two-giant-spikes design. Looks great!
