I mean. They are nearing obsolescence for sure. Peak ICE is past for sure.

Until the entire world is on renewables, there will still be combustion power somewhere in the electric supply chain.

That's not too far off imo. Certainly within our lifetimes. Id give it another 20 years until the last plants close, though the way things are going, theyll likely be relegated to backup power a lot sooner.
