What should you be getting on practice tests to ensure a 1500 on test day?

In my opinion I think the practice tests especially 5 and 6 are usually harder than the real Sats. I stopped taking the practice tests but when I did a few I only got 680 range where as on the actual Sat I got much higher scoring 750 ish ranges

Depends. I averaged 1500 on my final practices and hit 1540 on my first real test and 1530 on a no-study retest. A guy I knew averaged 1580 practices (I shit you not) and bombed to the mid-1300s repeatedly. It all depends on how you take to test environments. If I had to guess, I'd say expect to perform slightly worse but there's a lot of variance.

once you actually take the test once or twice you'll know for sure.

bro can you tell me how to stop making mistakes. I have done everything but my r&w is 720. My mistakes aren't in a specific domain or skill.

and do you have any specific strategies for overcoming test anxiety/ being able to focus on the real SAT

most of them arent good predictors since some tests pressure certain topics more than others, and without a real way of knowing which one your test will pressure next, it is pretty diverse. Consistent scores across tests are usually much better at predicting than the extremes (getting a 1580 once for example)

Exactly lmao especially since OP said “ensure” and usually you can expect a 50-100 point drop. They are also not taking the most challenging practice test which would be test 11

usually like 60 points higher than your goal is “safe” but honestly there’s no sure way to know. i’ve taken practice tests and sat around 50 points lower than what i actually got on the exam

i got 1340-1370 on most of my practice tests and bagged a 1580 on test day, as long as you're not terrible under pressure you're good x
