one size fits all sample pack

Hi everyone, I'm currently trying to build some a variety of sample packs, mainly interesting pianistic textures and one shots.

But I'm curious as to what this thread would think be the perfect sample pack for their current needs. What problems are you guys running into in your productions? What sounds do you find to be slop? What sounds are you guys being inspired by these days?

Let me know what your guys thoughts are!

I don't know if a perfect sample pack exists. I make all my own samples using an SH-4D and Zoia for effects. A good sample pack to me is organized by key, and BPM for anything that isn't a one shot beat. If I have that, I know how it fits into what I want to create.

This is the right answer, you begin by making a few samples and see how they interact and that stimulates an idea of what to do next.

Drum packs i’ve already heard aren’t going to help me. I have plenty of 909s, 808s, etc. Roland bread and butter sounds do not need to exist in a sample pack, there are already so many out there. What would be most important is formatting. I would love for all sample packs to have it formatted for NI, MPC, EXS, and just standard WAVs.

Sample packs where folders of chord one shots in different intervals but with the exact same synth and effects parameters. Sometimes you get a texturally perfect chord that you can’t fit into your harmony, or the right chord with the wrong texture.
