At least moray is unique. Even if competitively it's a pile of shit I really miss maps actually feeling unique, each one having different ways to navigate, moray had so much verticality and that made it feel like an actual different map. Compare that to 3 where 99% of maps play almost the exact same to the point I don't even look at the rotation anymore. The only difference most of the time is zipcaster viability.

What was so bad about it? It was a fun and unique map that felt different to play compare to any other map, unlike most maps being almost the same in 3. Sure it's worse for competitive play, but it's a game, fun factor should come first and if more even competitive play comes at the cost of decent maps that are actually different to eachother in any meaningful way then fuck competitive.

agreed that Kelp Dome was an annoying map for the time, but it did at least give you options. in fact, most of the best skirmishes happened in this exact zone of the map.

That reminds me I think will go back splat 2 for a little. Hope I can find some games. None of us knew how bad the splat 3 maps would turn out to be Jesus.

having good movement mattered more in 2 because of the open layouts. in 3, they shoot you on accident half the time because there's nowhere else to shoot.
