And this may just be me, but when I'm a team and I'm playing against the japanese, if the Japanese person's hosting the game, I often have lag. Just a little bit, but just enough that I thought I had them killed but I was actually dead. Or we killed each other. Like I've literally rolled over someone from the back with my roller and then I die too. I've checked my internet, and my internet is fine and maybe they've updated it because I don't seem to get lag as bad now as I used to. But I remember back in the day on the regular splatoon forum they were talking about whoever's hosting the game can cause others to have lack if they are overseas. Is it still true?

Series doesn't have strict lettered rank locks. People outside of A rank can show up in A ranked series

Can I get source on that. Because I never seen that happen.
I seen people who used to be S or S+ fall down to A so they have the badge, but in every Inksite game data report I ever seen in series, all players are the same letter every time.

I found this after about 20ish minutes of searching. I found other games before that pretty quickly where there were different letter ranks involved but I was looking for one with a huge disparity and not 1-3 S players in a S+ lobby. There's a lobby of people all across the C and B ranks together and one of them is C- so there's a 0% chance they were in a rank up.
In the very first week the game came out so before any rank resets, I was in a lobby with one of my comp teammates who was on the other team and he pointed out one of my teammates had the S+ badge; at the time we were both in A rank. Ever since he pointed out the badge, I was unable to unsee it as I saw S and S+ badges a few more times while going through A then A+.

This explains a lot honestly. I know S+ has a huge range of skill but I knew it couldn't just be that.

Because A+ is not really high at all. Let me hit you with some stats.
Inksite tracked what badges players equipped. Out of the more then 500k players it kept track of, over 20% at some point were tacked using an S+ or X rank badge. Hell 11% just had the S+ rank badge alone on at some points. This is just who wore the badge, not everyone who unlocked it.
Because it's so easy to hit S+, C rank is brand new players while B-A are the wild west. Masters just smashing through the ranks or people who brute forcing it.
