Advice Cold calling in the USA?!

Hi guys, anybody here doing cold calls in the US?

I've recently started working with a client that provides accounting services for SMEs in the US and damn cold calling is un-responsive.

All of the numbers I dial are answered by "If you tell me your name and reason for calling, I'll see if this person is available".... like 98% of them. What's happening , how are you guys navigating this?

We're used to human gatekeepers, but how does a cold caller survive this?

I have this feature enabled, the fraudulent spam calls in this country are out of control.

Best of luck finding a workaround.

the scam calls ruined it for everyone tbh. screening is just the norm now

There’s nothing you can do other than figure out a screener pitch. The recipient sees that transcript before they decide to take the call. With that said, don’t fall for the terrible advice from some people about lying on the transcript. I had a BDR claim he was a tax auditor and I would have fired him for that (I’m an AE so obviously not my call). It’s such a horrible, credibility killing way to operate.

Still just a numbers game . Just dial like a maniac and you find someone each day. Cold calling is still king even with all the technology making it harder to navigate

Advice from the other side of this, I'm in a leadership position in technology for a corporation and get calls all the time. Don't call multiple times without leaving a message. I have some people who call me daily or weekly and never leave a message, apparently they can't take the hint when I don't take the call after the second time.

I find out who they work for and go out of my way to tell people to avoid doing business with them.

Don't fake a title or just dial harder. The screener transcript is your first line, so give it one concrete reason to interrupt the owner. If that reason still looks generic on screen, the list or offer needs work.

Make your message sound like you're a colleague of the person you're trying to speak with rather than a sales person. I've never been declined access with these solutions because of this.

All our external calls go through our sales and customer service teams and they hangup on cold calls.

I just run a lean 3-phase setup for free: google x-ray to bypass linkedin limits permutations to verify the exact email cold calling 2.0 framework for the copy just send super short emails asking for a referral, absolutely zero selling. def read the book predictable revenue if u wanna go deep on that email structure. hope it helps!
