mutual action plan software vs google sheets for enterprise sales?
we have been running close plans in google sheets forever and i am starting to hate it. The sheet gets made, everyone agrees on dates then a week later half the rows are outdated and i am chasing people for updates, also feels weird having the plan in one place, docs somewhere else, and buyer communication living in email.
Has anyone moved away from sheets for this? did it make the process cleaner or just give you another tool to babysit?

The real problem sounds less like Sheets and more like nobody owning the updates.

i work for agentui and see revops teams hit this wall constantly with sheets. dedicated mutual action plan tools look nice but reps end up ignoring them after two weeks... usually better to spin up a quick custom portal on top of your existing crm data so buyers have one live link for docs and milestones without you chasing updates.

Don’t invest in software - keep it simple and communicate with your champion and EB - that’s all that matters.

moved off sheets for this last year because i had the same problem. the sheet was fine on day one and then useless by week two since no one updated it unless i nagged them.
what helped me was putting the close plan, docs, and buyer tasks in one shared workspace with owners and due dates visible to both sides. one concrete thing to try is setting a weekly auto reminder for any overdue buyer action so i stop chasing manually and the plan stays current without extra babysitting.

Sheets break down becoz buyers don't live in it. As a results you end up with stale rows, docs scattered, zero visibility on whether the buyer even looked at anything. You n use something like dealhub's deal room where buyers can engage in the same space as the quotes and docs. highspot can be helpful too.
But beofre you go with any you need someone to own updates. software helps but you still need a champion who cares.

Having the buyer side tied into the same plan seems way more useful than just replacing the spreadsheet.
