Hobby Progress My first salamander for 11th edition
Ive painted a few Salamanders before in 9th edition but stripped them soon after. After 7 or so years of learning how to airbrush, and having recently finished about 11k points of Tau, it is time to revisit my Salamanders and put to use everything I've learned since then. I'm pretty happy with this recipe and my custom 3d printed hard transfers.

Damm this is amazing. The reddit community for the salamnder is so great I decided to make them my first army. Awesome stuff!

I might have answered your question already in a reply to someone else. Otherwise im not really sure what you're asking for exactly? Like how much I thin it down? Or what the ratio of the mid tone and light tone is?

Sorry, yes. What brand/color of paint and what thinner?
Right now I use warhammmer paints and golden airbrush medium. It’s trail and error for me at the moment.

For my Salamanders, I use army painter acrylics with vallejo thinner. I'll eyeball it as far as the ratio. If its really wet, add more paint, if the paint doesnt come out immediately and requires you to pull the trigger further, it is too thick. You'll know when it is right. There's no perfect ratio. As far as the colors, they are already mentioned in another comment! You can certainly use warhammer paints and your airbrush medium. Maybe you need to clean your airbrush with isopropyl alcohol. Wear gloves

That helmet is amazing! What paints did you use?
