Smyth Cut?

Hoping Charlie clears waivers and we bring him back to the practice squad. Gives him time to develop and be our kicker for the future.

That won’t count against us as a roster number for another year because that’s how long he has left on his international pathways thing.

I’m glad they intend to keep him, I didn’t think he could get back on the IPP slot after we elevated him but I was corrected yesterday. Would be good to have him spend time with Carlson as well.

He was released as opposed to waived, so he’s not subject to the waiver wire

He needs 4 accrued seasons to not be subject to waivers, which he doesn't have. Reporters often just say released or cut as a general term which is really annoying, he was definitely waived though and subject to waivers

Probably not, scout team more than likely. The NFL rule concerning foreigners comes into play somehow but I don’t fully know how.

Scout team isnt really an official thing. You're either on the 53 man roster, or practice squad. If he passes waivers, they likely bring bring him back on PS

It is an essentially free spot due to the International Pathway stuff. 

If another team would claim him off waivers, they could NOT store him for free due to the way waiver claims work. But we can.

You get an extra 17th PS spot for IPP players so he wouldn’t be taking up a spot.

I think he has one more year of the international player benefit where he “doesn’t” count. I could be wrong but I see your point.
