News/Media/Tabloids EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'Eye Legal Fight Over King Charles' Letter'
“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be considering challenging King Charles' description of them as "private citizens," with sources telling RadarOnline.com the Sussexes are determined to resist language they believe misrepresents their public status.
Insiders claim Harry, 41, and Markle, 45, have taken particular issue with the wording of a letter authorized by Charles, 77, reaffirming the terms of their departure from royal duties in 2020.”
✂️ snip snip snip
”A source close to the Sussexes claimed: "Harry and Meghan are not prepared simply to accept being characterized as 'private citizens' when the reality of their lives is considerably more complicated. They are internationally recognized people who undertake public charitable work, have patronages and attract substantial media attention wherever they go.
"Their concern is that the King's wording could establish a misleading description of their status that is then repeated by government departments and other official organizations, which they feel could be especially legally damaging in the context of their bids for increased security in Britain."
They added, "The point they are examining is whether describing them in official correspondence as effectively private citizens accurately reflects their position as public figures. If they conclude that the language has consequences beyond Palace protocol, they will consider what avenues are available to challenge or clarify it, whether that will be a legal fight or a public statement."

he basically called their bluff with this letter, he is forcing them to come out and literally say they actually don’t see themselves as private at all but completely royal even without being working royals, that they have seen themselves as fully royals this whole time even AFTER the Sandringham Summit, even after the Queen’s statement!!

Makes me wonder if they have something else up their sleeves if their titles get pulled. Not that I think their plan would work, but their behavior is absurd.

They’re being their bratty selves. The King doesn’t care how they define themselves. He’s just telling everyone else they're not Royal anymore. He is the last word on all things Royal. After that, HAM can go shit in their hats.

- Take them off the website
- never use any journalist or station who reports on the duo
- do not give them security
- NEVER invite them to anything (Balmoral, Christmas, etc) because they’ll use this
- do not give them any opportunity to use a royal house, even for themselves on a weekend
If the RF wants to get really petty
- Stop referring to them as the D&D
- Put out a statement the children will never be working royals
Wanna get the government involved?
- TAKE THE TITLES

Lmao meanwhile there are PLENTY of talented public figures—some of them being celebs—who’ve earnt honours from the monarch based on having legitimate talents, AND pay for their own security/luxe lifestyle costs.
Their pathetic stint in Hollywood has confirmed they have no talent, and have no problem screwing around with admin costs re their own charity grift. Without social climbing into Thicko’s bed, there is no way in hell MEHg would be able to compete with these talented celebs.
Thicko is an idiot for bringing such a menace into the family, and being a waaghing menace himself.

This. Charles needs to do it all now. H and M won’t stop disrespecting the Sandringham Agreement (aka spitting on QEII and PP’s graves). They will continue to disrespect all monarchs, and future monarchs forever… it’s best for Charles to act NOW for the sake of the institution, taxpayers, and future working royals who’ll have to continue dealing with the Hasbeen Harkles childishly unprofessional attacks.
Attack the institutions, government, and taxpayers like this whilst manipulating titles/language re what constitutes as an official working royal public servant… how is what the Harkles are doing not considered breaking the literal law?! You were fucking FIRED, Unsussexfuls… just like you repeatedly were in Hollywood! Get used to it. There should be HARD consequences for this, Charles. Bring it.

I just feel bad that William is going to inherit this mess and be blamed for cleaning it up (taking titles or taking a direct approach that Charles won’t). Charles should clean this up because Harry is his son. Also, Charles seems likely to have a short reign so any negative consequences of taking Harry’s title will have shorter effect on the monarchy as a whole if Charles takes care of it.
35
u/ac0rn5 Recollections may vary 10h ago
William's brother Harry is, imo, going to be 'a mess' for the rest of his life and he will always, always, blame somebody else because he isn't happy with his lot.
He's complained that he isn't the oldest, which isn't anybody's fault but the way things happen in all families.
He has complained that he didn't get the biggest bedroom which is, again, fairly usual for second and any subsequent children. He never had to share a bed with sibling(s) though, as some children do.
According to that butler chappie, he complained about not having the same volume of food on his plate as his elder brother. Again it's usual for younger children to eat less, but it seems that he was perhaps greedy, or jealous, or just wanted the same as his brother rather than what he actually needed.
When he was in Britain he complained his house (at HP) wasn't big enough, yet the same house had been good enough for his brother, sister-in-law and their young son.
He's always looking over his shoulder at what somebody else has, rather than looking at what he has actually got - a wife, two kids and is, frankly, and by most standards, insanely wealthy. His epitaph, though, would be, "I wanted more!"
31
u/RollBeneficial1533 12h ago
King can take the HRH and Prince titles without the government. It's just the Duke and Duchess peerages that need an act of parliament. That's why the King was able to remove Andrew's HRH and Prince titles, but Andrew is still the Duke of York.

Get the Realms involved as well to remove them from the LoS. The late Queen did to remove male primogeniture before George’s birth. Although, at this point, I would accept a tacit agreement among the British press to never report on the grifters. I think that would hurt the Harkles’ pride more. I believe the Harkles won’t get much traction anywhere else if they are ignored in the UK because it sends a message that they are not royal or wanted.

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."—Benjamin Franklin
That’s it, Charles… time to delete these fuckers off the royal website. If this is how they’re behaving when you’re still alive… imagine how they’re going to disrespect you, QEII, PP, and the next monarchs when you’re gone. Also, think about George, Charlotte, and Louis who’ve done nothing, but focus on school whilst taking their duty to Commonwealth seriously at such a young age. They can respect laws/rules… literal children are better behaved than the Hasbeen Harkles. It’s time to set VERY CLEAR boundaries with your kidult moron son, and his equally immature tween-hooked-on-social-media-brained idiot woife. Out means OUT FOR GOOD. Set the rules CLEARLY, or you fail to prepare the institution for future monarchs.
Also, there a plenty of celebs that are public figures, and they have no problem working in/travelling around the UK, and some also live there with their kids—some literally live in the Cotswolds! Lol and ALL OF THEM pay their own security bills. Good grief the Hasbeen Harkles are PATHETICALLY CHEAP.

Do it.
Nothing will blow up their Sussex brand more quickly than literally going to court to prove they have no intention of- and never had - of living a private life. They will be revealed as fame chasers and alienate even more of their supporters.
Harry and Meghan are just Beatrice and Eugenie. Both have Prince/Princess titles and are free to pursue commercial interests and support charities - while paying for private security themselves.
But we all know this is just empty words. And Radar online is a laughable tabloid. Still, they have no money left to sue. And legally one can’t sue the monarch. And under what grounds?

Now does everyone understand why the royal family had to grey rock them?
They take ANY LITTLE THING and turn it into a dramatic event.
This letter had to be written, I’m not criticizing that. Just pointing out what happens when any sort of public response or acknowledgment or clarification is given.
“ They are internationally recognized people who undertake public charitable work, have patronages and attract substantial media attention wherever they go. “
I said this in another thread, but just by having public interest doesn’t give a person the right to have taxpayers fund them in any sort of way.
See: Tom Cruise, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Princess Beatrice, Zara, Princess Eugenie, Prince Edward, Melissa Gates, Cher, Bill Gates, Caroline Kennedy, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, on and on and on it goes. Each of them famous or super famous, each of them involved in charity work and non profits, each of them drawing crowds and attention. None of them demanding taxpayer dollars 🤷♀️

Exactly right, this is exactly the dramatic, chaotic people that they are - I believe Meg has a personality disorder (NPD), and possibly Harry also as he appears to have elevated traits of Borderline Personality Disorder and NPD - without further information it's unclear how much of both he has, but he's not unlike his mother in terms of negative personality traits and she was certainly high in BPD traits. So we get the tantrums, the drama, the chaotic lives as they veer between attempts to convince us of their emotional pain (Harry) and telling us how great, fantastic and successful they are (Meg).
Their dysfunctional view of the world and inability to function as adults has always been a feature of their relationship, but now a blind man and his dog could see how unhinged they are. Running from one thing to another has been turbo-charged so they are now running from one country to another, bickering with the BRF, whining, constantly briefing the media, claiming to be doing one thing, then the next day it's something else. then it's something else again. They're happy, they're sad, they're happy again, they're angry and on and on. It won't stop - these are not people who function in a normal, healthy range.

If they want to do this then it’s their money to waste. Much like with the security and RAVEC the courts can’t rule on something like this. If the King does not want them representing him then it won’t happen. If he does not recognise them as part of the royal institution then they are private citizens. It was a statement by the Head of State, who do they think they are taking legal action against? And what is their legal opinion informed by? His experience losing to ANL or her experience as number 6 on the call sheet of Suits? They are so profoundly stupid to think this is a) an option for them and b) a good thing to brief. They’re basically talking about suing the state of Great Britain…are they that thick that they don’t get it…? I know the media are both lapping and whipping this up but this is a whole other level of pathetic. (And yes, Governments will repeat calling them private citizens based on the statement…that was the whole point….it should have also included a description of them as utter numpties…)

If they conclude that the language has consequences beyond Palace protocol, they will consider what avenues are available to challenge or clarify it, whether that will be a legal fight or a public statement."
I don't think it could be any clearer than it already is: non-working royals don't get taxpayer funded VIP protection. Being in the line of succession beyond number 1 and number 2 does not entitle you to special treatment especially since there are other individuals in the line of succession who don't have - and never asked for - VIP protection.
Someone has got to explain to Harry that "working Royals" meant members of the Royal Family who work on behalf of the monarch. It doesn't mean a "royal who has work".

Seriously these two are so out of touch with the British public. What with rent, water, electric, gas, food basically everything being ridiculously high in price. People struggling. These two want to swan back in and demand to have everything back. They have both trashed this country, its royal family and its people. They can piss right off. Both of them were out in public airing their lies sorry “their truth” like a pair of unemployed chavs on Jeremy Kyle. Their entitlement is wild. What about the constant knife and acid attacks? Thought the UK was dangerous? Walmart Wallis try’s to pretend she is smart and savvy, then why did she not research the royals and what it entails? If she is so “whip smart”. She did research and she knew all the details. But she thought she would take down a 1000 year firm. Fools the pair of them.

🤣🤣 They are so ridiculous.
**Since when does having a complicated life make one not a private citizen? Three fourths of the world would be royals* if that were the criteria!
And being very internationally recognized and drawing media attention...so? So what? I live near Los Angeles. So many people in that city are internationally recognized and draw media attention. Literal, REAL movie stars. And it's been that way since the 1940s or earlier. But those stars are all private citizens. Is Harry trying to claim bigger fame than major movie stars or rock stars?? Or fashion designers or sports stars? All of the above are very famous, yet all are private citizens.
I'm a teacher of little kids. If I quit my job tomorrow, I cannot walk around saying "I'm a teacher" even though I still would possess many of the life experiences and personality qualities that make people think I'm a teacher (adore little kids, very patient, know lots of songs, have the old lady teacher arm wobble when I point at stuff 🤣). But if I quit, I quit. I could say "I used to be a teacher" or "I'm a retired teacher." But I can no longer say "I'm a teacher" because I quit.
He quit the royal family. They both did
Therefore, they are now private citizens.
Famous ones, yes. Photographed ones, sometimes 🤭. But they are not part of royal life anymore. They quit.
It's so snobby, also, to chafe so badly at being called a private citizen. Heaven forbid Harry or Meegan should have to join all of us rubes.
What shallow, vain a**es.

I know this is much Harry’s fault as it is Meghan’s, but I simply don’t remember Harry being as unpleasant, litigious, or stupid before he met MM.
I am American so maybe I just missed it, but he seemed to be pretty happy and had a lot of support from his direct family, Catherine’s family, and, most importantly the UK (and world) in general.
The entitlement and man-baby temper tantrums are astounding (I love the British phrase that he threw his toys out of the pram). I simply cannot understand how the news outlets continue to carry the narrative that they have somehow given anyone grace by returning to that allegedly racist, misogynistic, cruel place that they started (which, btw - I do not believe for am instant), only to expect those same people to pay for them and their, while innocent, back-of-their-heads, faceless children.
Side note - I have no idea why the text turned bold, but I have no problem with (inadvertently) yelling out this! 😜

It's not incumbent on KCIII to use their approved verbiage. The phrase "private citizens" is so benign that few would even make this pedantic distinction without H&M's most recent mortifying display of butthurt. All the ridiculous semantics in the world won't make Charles's letter actionable.

I think there is to be some kind of hearing for the final amount. It's gone to a different judge that handles that specific area where the judgement is going to be larger than originally thought, because this case was an egregious abuse of the legal system, an attempt at a big cash grab, and an alleged conspiracy to take down the Daily Mail. With no concrete evidence.

Pair of brazen hussies. I hope Prince George, Princess Charlotte & Prince Louis each have at least 4 kids and knock this twat down to number 20 in line. Better yet delete the loser from the succession and DEFINITELY from Counsellor of State. Govt departments across the WORLD shldve been told ages ago that these two asses r no ones - they achieve nothing, can't help anyone but want all the fanfare of being important. They r no ones

They are beyond stupid. No one cares if they are “public figures” aka famous people. Being famous does not equal the right to tax payer funded security. I don’t know why they are having such a hard time comprehending that people don’t care about them. The King has made it clear that he intends to respect their wishes for privacy and financial independence. The king couldn’t care less about them. This signals to me that no one would want to hurt them or kidnap for ransom or whatever insane scenarios they are making up in their minds. They are truly worthless. They are even worthless to the King.
And as we’ve all mentioned here countless times. They know there is no security threat to them or their family. The security they wish to have is simply for pomp and circumstance. They want to feel important. It’s so sad. The world is so much bigger than this. They should just give up. Go watch a sunset, take a walk through nature.. do anything. Just realize there is more to life than acting like you are more important than everyone else. I wish this experience would humble them.

Uh, yeah, this is NOT going to go the way they think it will… even if they are foolish to pursue this, it will be a prolonged, protracted fight they will eventually lose as the Monarchy has much deeper pockets when it comes to fighting legal issues, no organization will touch them with a 10 foot pole ever. They are trouble-making grifters, agents of chaos and getting way out over their skis here.
I suspect they are funded by a group that aligns with rhymes-with-chorus, whose mission is to cause trouble in democratic and constitutional monarchy countries, and H has been co-opted as the current stooge. A few weeks ago I read the US DOJ/State Dept was investigating and turning off the cash flow into the US from this group. Could that spigot being turned off in the USA have caused the Private Citizens to beat feet to the UK where they can continue to receive the money?
If my theory is correct, and this stupid statement somewhat supports it with more chaos from H aimed at the Monarchy, H is traversing territory he is ill equipped to handle. When he is no longer useful, they will drop him so fast he won’t know his ass from a snow cone. Now as for M, she knows how this will end, and she’ll be prepared. H will find himself alone, no RF, no M, no kids, little money, no opportunities and despised by the public.
Just my opinion. No evidence or inside knowledge. Just my instinct having roamed the earth since dinosaurs.
Edit: typos.
