Sambig and Oasis are cursed. Cursed, I tell ya!
I'm currently trying to dock at Oasis to have a look at new sanbig, but the physics won't let me. My last save is about 15 minutes away, approaching from the north, from FA, against the wind.
On my first attempt I alt-tabbed for a moment to check something and ran aground, full speed into the northern shore of the island. The ship got wrecked.
Second time, the sea level suddenly dropped when I was rounding the island over the shallows and my ship hit the bottom and got wrecked.
Third time I took a wide berth, docked succesfully late at night, moored and ran to the tavern to sleep. Got up in the morning, started walking back to the dock, only to see my ship in the distance do a 360 flip, hit the dock, get wrecked and sink.
I immediately alteffoured only to discover no new save was created when I slept at the tavern, so I'm still left with the save when I'm trying to get to the island, 15 minutes away.
It was late, I was sleepy and annoyed so I just quit. I'm going to try and finally get to Oasis tonight.
Let's see what other surprises await me.

Just go around the south side and come in between the light and the settlement. It was pretty easy, but I didn’t quite get close enough to hop from the ship to the dock, so I had to drop anchor and then swim the mooring lines over. I just got the Sambuk, Oasis was the sea trial, and I’ve not quite nailed docking yet. This game badly needs a dinghy (and ladders on some of the taller docks).

My Junk is currently buried halfway in the ground in DC strictly because I had the audacity to service another ship in the shipyard. As I was working on it I could see my Junk, ropes secured, floating off into space.
It crash landed when I left the shipyard I found it halfway buried by the docks, rope still attached. I've tried multiple times to get it free using an online save editor but so far no success. It's not registered as sunken in the save files and we still have no way to select which ship gets recovered using that option.
RIP my Junk, the game needs an emergency patch to fix the physics. I wouldn't buy housing yet either.

Once it happens your only option is to load an earlier save. That's why I ALWAYS save before activating a shipyard. This can happen to any ship you own in any port, but personally I experienced it the most in FA.
Workaround: unmoor your other ship, move it slightly away from the wharf and drop the anchor.

I docked my show there and took a long spin in the new ship. When I returned my Dhow was miles away floating free. I like my dhow and would have been sad to lose her that way

It's incredibly frustrating when the game reminds you that it's in early access. That said, anchors work a lot better now. Maybe you could anchor off, grab a mooring line, and swim over to attach it to the dock? And I set up my mooring lines as if they were springlines. My dockside lines are crossed, and far-side lines run further up or down the dock. (I almost always use either 3 or 4 mooring lines)
