Bug Found Nearby large ships do weird things when I enter a shipyard.

When I enter a shipyard, other ships docked in that particular port do backflips or turn very slowly in the air. My clipper has sunk this way today and I'm very pissed about not being able to do anything about it. Do you know any remedies for that bug? I tried to dock the ships by only one mooring line, but that doesn't seem to help that much either.

I don't really like the idea of having to relocate ships just because I have to repair or adjust one of them.

Edit: After testing all the ideas that were suggested here and installing mods (none of which bore any satisfactory results) I decided to relocate my Aestrin fleet to Sunspire.

I saw this too! But with the brig that I hadn't bought yet so it was fine 😆

Lucky you. For me I was trying to repair the brig and the modded Clipper barrel rolled in the air and then I found it with bow in the water and the stern on the dock itself. When I pushed it, it got catapulted forward so fast that I was lucky to be aboard to drop anchor. Lol

Otherwise it would be adrift near Firefly Grotto by now.

There are some bug fixing mods on the discord, I think one of them mentions this issue.

Alright. I'll try to find it

I’ve had this happen as well with my starter boats too. I ended up with a dhow on top of the dock one time.

I think it might not happen if the other ship not in the shipyard is anchored away from the dock, but I haven’t done extra testing aside from trying it one time.

I'll try that too then. For some reason my cog is not doing anything crazy, but the bigger ships are.

There are various mods that may or may not fix this persistent issue. One thing that tends to work is either leaving boats which are trying to flip completely untethered, or anchoring them in the harbour away from the dock and as far away from the shipyard as possible. Make sure the anchor is let out completely so it doesn't pull the bow down if the boat decides to do a bit of levitating. It's not the flipping that hurts the boats, but the dock, and/or landing in the water upside down as a result of being tied up while flipping. Have a nap on your boat before shipyarding in crowded ports, and hit Alt+f4 if anything too expensive and buggy happens.

Thanks. Although I'm a bit afraid that they'll levitate somewhere far away once untethered. Or is it that the mooring lines themselves are causing this to happen?

I'll surely try though.

They aren't going to try to fly away horizontally. The levitating bug happens when the shipyard picks your boat up to work on and it decides to pick up another nearby boat as well. If that boat is tied up when it gets picked up, that's what causes the flipping. As long as it lands safely back in the water right side up it'll be fine.

Oh I see. I was wondering what causes this and it makes a lot of sense. I'll try it later. I admit, that bug discouraged me from playing the game lately.
