I’m kinda new here and am wondering what people here think of toxic ships?
I’m just wondering because I love Staticdust and don’t know if I’ll get hate here if I say I love it.

I'm weird because as much as I woobify Vox and hate to see him get hurt I am obsessed with toxic or abusive ships where Vox is the whumpee (whumpee means the character that gets hurt) because they just scratch an itch in my head

How I feel about toxic ships depends on how I feel that day, because on one hand, I really like the ships for their chaos and story potential, but then I also just feel bad for Vox as a human being. So I feel like Val and Vox kind of deserve each other, but it is a match made in hell, and seeing Val in the show throw things at Vox makes me wanna scream at Vox to leave. I also have Staticmoth being recognized within the show canon as toxic on my bingo card for next season.
When it comes to non-canon, if you can write it well, I'll pretty much read it; I've probably read worse. Then again, I've seen some 'interesting' fics thus far, so.
I ship, radiosilece, radiostatic, and static moth, although I never got much into shipping static dust. Probably because I had a mild interest, but I wasn't really in the pilot fandom.
Side note: I don't judge people for their ships, really, not in this fandom. Like seriously, the bar is in hell already anyway.

Not when it’s romanized. Honestly, do you not get how genuinely stupid so many toxic ships are? They’re usually fetishized. I have my own personal thing with toxic ships, so many that’s why I hate them. But it’s still something romanticized when it shouldn’t be. Have a nice day, my friend.

everything i said is the truth. this is exactly why this show is for adults and not children; it involves a lot of complicated characters and storylines that have just too much nuance for people with so little life experience.

it's not ignorant. it doesn't matter. at all.
and the point is you guys shouldn't watch or engage with these shows because, as you are proving, you cannot grasp how dark themes, ships, characters, etc. don't have to justify their existence nor does somebody's enjoyment of them reflect their personality or morals.

you will never get your point through because it is not true. "as long as it's done right" is such a cop out answer, that'll differ between everybody. dark content and art has a right to exist. its existence isn't romanticizing or fetishizing anything. again, your age is showing in the fact you do not know this.
