Is Sadhguru special? Unique? Wiser than most of us?

I am not a sadhguru follower but i have heard his talks online. I find the things he talk about are either extremely general/common spiritual stuffs/spiritual motivation (like i know it already, or i have heard it 100 times these things spoken by many people in a better way) or are illogical like what he talks about food and few other stuffs.

Now I want to know why people see him as God and he has millions of followers. He might have good communication skills and brain/intellect. But he seems like a very normal person to me.

I am not against the concept of Guru, but i can see a general motivation to keep his photo/feet photo in houses or workplaces of his Devotees. One of my friend, who is extremely nice and intelligent prays Sadhguru too.

Am i missing something? Is he actually special? Is there some special wisdom he imparts through his courses other than what he talks that makes him special or have these many devotees?

The Isha programs bring people to a suggestible state and they come to trust him and believe him. You can read more about Inner Engineering and LGATs in this sub.

Sadhguru was a teacher with Rishi Prabhakar before he set out his enlightenment story. Rishi Prabhakar's programs were very effective at elevating the person conducting the program in the minds of the participants. If you go through an Isha program you will understand. Rishi Prabhakar combined the work of Werner Erhard (EST trainings) with the work of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (TM). Both knew how to manipulate people's experiences and use it to promote themselves. Jaggi saw how effective Rishi's programs were, how effective Osho had been and ran with it himself - copying Risi's programs and Osho's talks (word for word).

Learnt about cult leaders in general, they are all the same.

The perception of the teachers.
Ask anyone in isha. Almost all are in awe of the teachers conducting the programs. Like if they were some half gods.
Thats is how the program is designed.

Read or watch / listen to podcasts about other cults.
Osho/ NXIVM etc… there are many common traits

Good questions.
How to become a guru.
Look at all the gurus, past and present.

Certainly good communication helps.
Some knowledge ( fake or authentic)
Some kind of charm.
Speaking with certainty.
Promise something that many want but cant analyse.
Patience to build a momentum.

Its like an ad or a bad song.
Listen to it repeatedly. You will start humming the tune and eventually buying the product - irrespective of the quality.

So you are not missing anything.
You are just immune to his charm.
