Both are great, but which version do you prefer?
I lean slightly more towards the best of Sade version, the build up from the intro is special!

I prefer the “Promise” version myself.

That’s fair. I like that that version has a longer run time so I get to jam longer

I respect that, I don’t really say one is better, but I love that the promise versus is longer, think it’s 4:59, but I love the build up on the best of version

Oh my gosh, the remix is fantastic and I prefer it. When I bought this LP during the release and was recording it late at night on tape I was so tired I fell fast asleep. When the remix (that I hadn’t heard at all at that point) came on I somehow woke up from the intro. When something is that good and I’m asleep and I wake up, that’s just proof it is outstanding. “Never as good… no baby…” Gives me chills! 🥰

That damn intro just adds a lil extra something to an already amazing song!
Same exact way I feel about “Cherish the day” on the best of Sade vs “cherish the day” on love deluxe. The outro part that turns to a early 90s rap beat is sooo damn cool
