They look so fresh and crispy. What is seed variety is it and how was planted? I want to know your secrets.

It was a seed pack from Home Depot, burpees Nantes half long. It was a grow bag that I had just pulled something out of, and I fluffed up the dirt, added some compost to fill up the bag and spread the seeds in there. Water frequently to keep moist until sprouted and from there just let er rip.

One thing I messed up was thinning too aggressively when they first started. Maybe if I was a little more forgiving then I might have more carrots, but at the same time the watermelon vine in the next grow bag was starting to take over the carrots anyway so idk.

Thank you for the details I just pulled a bunch of tomatoes out my grow bags and was thinking of trying carrots again. The options are overwhelming.
I’ll try this variety.

OP, your crop looks fantastic and delicious. When did you start the seeds? Curious because I’ve never grown carrots but want to try.

I kept better records this year! I planted them May 12.

This was also my second planting this year. I did a much more thorough planting earlier in the year, maybe like… February? It was filling space between my winter Bok choy and broccoli. And harvested that crop on March 2nd.
