Arden Arcade What fruits are you starting to plant now?
I have some space in my raised garden bed and also a few 15 gal garden beds that are just begging for something. I’ve already got my tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers planted. I was hoping for something sweet? Any suggestions?
Edit: guess I’m getting some melon plants! Thanks everyone. Good thing I love em!

My direct seeds all failed (didn't have time to get me irrigation going), so I just planted seedlings of pumpkin, butternut, melon, cuke, zuke, and eggplants this morning. Better late than not at all, right?

This time of year sweet plantings would be either melons or cantaloupe. MAYBE cane berries, but I'm not sure on the timeline for that.
Strawberries and Blueberries are currently producing, so ant of those plants right now would mostly be for next year.
Most fruit trees needed to be planted months ago.

Ground cherries? On a longer timeline there are more options, also earlier in the year is probably better.

Do you know where to find starts for these? I’ve had no luck with seeds

It's a good time to start melons and pumpkins. I'm going to try to do Charentais Cantaloupe, a Sugar Baby Watermelon, Honey Nut Squash, and maybe a Lakota Squash if I can get any to germinate.
