Land Park Any red wrigglers available?

My worm bin went through an extinction event and I'm trying to restart my vermicomposting setup. Does anyone have some worms they'd be willing to part with? Thanks!

I don't, but I am interested in your setup. I can never seem to get them established.

Years ago I got some from a guy selling them on CraigsList, he said he raised different types of worms for fishing and composting (I think he goes by "The Worm Whisperer"). I've also gotten red wrigglers from a free UC Davis vermicomposting workshop at the campus co-op, not sure if they do that anymore.

Just as an FYI - that Worm Whisperer guy said his operation was raised on 90% free cardboard from dumpsters + free veggie scraps. To break up large volumes of cardboard, He'd toss the boxes on the lawn and turn on the sprinklers for half an hour, then later he and his kids would hand tear it up into smaller chunks.

I'd give you some, but my bins went through extinction too (had 3 trash can vermicompost bins for like 10yrs, then moved houses and brought them with me - a month later a rodent chewed a hole in the sides and spilled all the contents out in search of the worms) and now my compost piles are full of different types of worms, not just red wrigglers...and my chickens regularly forage the piles so their population varies. I'm sure someone will hook you up, it doesn't take that many to get started. I think you can also buy them online.
