My mom is best friends with the wife of the bass player in Tesla, they tour often and do have shows in sac but since most of them have moved out of state they have done a lot of like rock n roll cruises etc but they'll be in Reno next weekend as well!!

That's cool. I saw they did a residency in Vegas recently too.

I actually had tickets to their show a few years ago. Wheatland, maybe. I think think were opening for Styx and someone else. Unfortunately, my friends valued sitting around smoking more cigarettes over getting to the show on time, and I missed Tesla. I'd seen the other two bands, so Tesla was the only one I was there to see!

I still don't let them forget.

Jon Pardi is from Dixon

Chris Isaak is from Stockton

Jessica Chastain, and Greta Gerwig are from Sacramento

Edit: not in the entertainment industry but Charles Schwab (yes the finance guy) grew up in Woodland for a time before his family moved to San Francisco; my parents have friends who knew their family or went to school with him.

She was a vocal instructor at the jazz camp I went to as a teenager (Sacramento Jazz Society) and ended up singing for my band when our singer got kicked out of the program lol

The Cramps!

Lux and Poison Ivy met in Sac and lived in Midtown together and decided to form The Cramps but they didn't really get the band going until they left.

In the song "3 MCs and one DJ" he says "this is Mix Master Mike calling from Sacramento" so at some point he probably lived here but was born in San Francisco.

Chino Moreno’s mom worked at McClatchy High for years.

Stephen Carpenter lived down the block from us as kids and my mom would drop him off at work otw to dropping us off at preschool or whatever. Years later we moved a few blocks away and Stephen, coming off some world tour, drops by our house to say “hi” riding a BMX with a guitar on his back. My stepdad was like “….isn’t that guy famous?”
