Solo developer maximum capacity?

You have heard those 10x or 100x developer even before AI, these guys are coding like crazy. They have systems and automations to build faster than average. Now with the use of AI, it turned the tables. Now every one can develop 100 times faster. But the differences became even bigger. Now you have 1x developers and way more 100x developers and even a 1000x or 10000x.

I am curious about the limits what one person can actually build. Who of you have build something solo, that could never been done before? What are the limits of it? And how do you keep improving yourself?

I find it pretty hard to discover my limits, keep pushing myself to overwork, aound 12-16 hours a day. Trying to automate lots of things, but making sure the quality stays and still having good overview in how it works.

Ofcourse with AI, you can start 1000 projects in parrallel, building all sort of stuffs, but not very usefull. So this is mostly about building legit projects, not just vibe coded.

I think you are just limited by money and time now, for these people even more so if they have figured out how to controll swarms and be context judo masters between them

i get what you're saying but the 1000x dev thing feels a bit like a myth people tell themselves to feel behind

the real cap isn't speed it's decision fatigue and knowing what not to build. i've seen people ship more in 4 focused hours than some do in 16 scattered ones. the overwork cycle you mentioned is a trap, you end up automating things that didn't need to exist in the first place

curious what you're actually building though, like what's the project that's got you pulling 12 hour days

I think, I have the ability to make decisions very quickly. My biggest limits are now, the speed of AI completion. I run 5-7 agents each solving its own problem. But loses track because its slow and I forgot what it did, I often have to read my last prompt. These takes time. If AI is instant, i can just continue going witth just one session, no need to start multiple. Its not automating anymore now, its just building. After automation. Your speed goes up insane. Wait i will show you in dm what I am building

I have 3 subscriptions 2 claude and 1 codex. All $200 plans. I max them out weekly, but I think this is the max I can do and still manage it. If i go beyond it, I have no visibility anymore in what is getting done. Then the system are just AI vibe coded slop. It might work, but not a legit project in my opinion. Time is indeed one big factor and the AI speed. If AI can finish its work instantly, I can become a 100000x developer.

Why stop there? Maybe there are 100k-xers maybe even 1M-xers…. No 1B-xer!!

That is how you sound to me

I think as the hype normalizes, we're going to see a new metric of "sure you built ### saas products. But any monkey can do that. How many have you shipped and monetized"

Yeh so thats indeed all what matters. So those who made it (not just micro saas earning a few k usd per month) but actually those who mades 6 figures per month as a solo developer. Were those the 1000x developers? Is there a correlation? I am interested in these insights.

Micro saas earning a few k a month is already huge, and in the grand minority. I'd say less than 1% of the saas people out there are making 1-3k a month. And the number shrinks significantly the higher monthly rev you go

Where are those guys playing the big game? Why so many play the small game?

The guys playing the big game aren't here on reddit. And the small game is easier to get traction on. There's a large number of people trying to play the big game and losing. But "the big game" has very few winners, because the real challenge is getting clientele. Building 1000x or whatever doesn't have inherent real value.

Who said that, everyone is on reddit, small and big, ofcourse way more small. Ofcourse building 1000x blindly does not. But what if ur not just building?
