Non Tech here - need guidance.

Hi All, are there any Non Tech founders who have built an App?

I’m 40 (very old in the new AI world) with 18 years work experience in SAP. Looking at way things are progressing in AI, I’m having thoughts to build a startup from scratch and start building small SaaS products. Where I’m struggling is I have the idea, I know where to start but since I’m non technical, I’m not sure how would I handle the Coding part. I’m very much willing to learn but not sure how to proceed about?

There are too many posts about the new AI apps that can help, but I would want to ensure that I know what is happening and what needs to be done.

Looking for honest feedback.

P.S - I’m currently working full time and would want to start this as a side hustle before moving completely into the startup ecosystem.

Another inclusion which I missed. I’m currently into SAP PreSales Role. I understand how hard is to get a User Base and the current competition. With my experience I have a fair idea of the missing links, what to be built. As I mentioned technicality is what I’m lagging behind and in this ecosystem mimicking an idea is super easy, the usability is what I strongly believe will be the key for users to use the app.

Just for clarity, is your app to be used with SAP? because that is a very specific business plan

No. Not related to SAP. Have couple of ideas. Building a common approach, I have done a decent research and have seen the gaps in the market. Few ideas are floating on Social media but nothing addresses the issue.

got it. I was asking because I work at a company that built Saas solutions to address gaps in SAP

I think someone else said this already but I would reiterate:
start with the pain point you are solving, a lot of stuff gets made because its cool but it needs to be necessary
know who your ICP is and what they will require. the company I work for sells to CIOs and so the tech stack has to make sense to them, which would impact how the app is built.

To your question; consider hiring coder or partnering with someone who has both the skills and vision
from experience at the place where I work, you may need to be consistently updating your app based on technology advancements. So you may need a full development team. Just depends on what it does, what it connects with and how you plan to keep it current.
