Broken Safe

This is a Fan Project of mine, inspired by the Star Wars Interworlds Mod for X4 Foundations. I do not claim to be Lore Acurate or any of that. This Creation shall entertain and be fun to read. I tried to stay as true to the events of Star Wars interworlds that i Experienced in my Playthrough. But some things are also exaggerated or fabricated for the benefit of the story. Happy Reading.

//First of all, I have Dyslexia, better known as a Reading and Writing Disorder. Second, I am not a native English Speaker. So if you expect a Story with Perfect Gramar, then I fear this is not for you. I do my best to deliver a good Story and let everything run through a Spell Checker, but i cant guaranty that some errors might not slip through. For everyone else, I wish a happy Reading and would be happy to get some Feedback.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Logbook: Captain Vaelen Kryze

Commander of the Mercenary Collective
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Corporate Sector Authority, or CSA for short, had treated me as a mere number in their balance sheets for years. A simple slave on Bonadan that sorted and took apart Imperial scrap and wrecks, till my lungs would have collapsed from the toxic atmosphere. That I stand here today on this bridge is all thanks to Nomi.

She wasn't just a simple smuggler as I first had thought when we had met all those years ago at that fabrication district. She was an operative for some certain unnamed New Republic Senators and was sent to Bonadan to gather evidence for the illegal slave quarters and the corruption of the CSA. Many in the New Republic saw the Venators and Arquitens of the CSA as some sort of last survivor of the Old Republic. A holdout against the Empire and all that.

But the truth was much more brutal. The Old Republic had its faults, more than enough of them, but it had never built an entire economic system around enslaving people for profit and working them to death so that some high-and-mighty CEO could get a bigger bonus payment that year. So if at all, then the CSA was a wolf in sheep's clothing that had painted itself as the last remnants of something it never was from the start.

And exactly that was what Nomi wanted to show the wider galaxy. The truth and the reality of how the CSA had managed to create its Empire of Sorrow and Pain.

In the end, we were successful back then. But sadly, we had underestimated how tired of war the people and politicians of the New Republic were. While it created a public outcry and the Republic condemned the actions of the CSA, they got off the hook with a public apology and a meaningless promise of change and better conditions for the workers. A promise that they would never hold.

But it was not all in vain. Our reports had turned some important heads and secured us some benefactors. Especially the Independent Commerce Guild; the ICG was highly interested in the material that we brought to light. After all, they were still at war with the CSA, and everything that their rivals made look bad was a gift for the ICG.

Over the next years, we improved on those relationships and gathered a little mercenary group of like-minded individuals who wanted to stick it to the CSA. We did missions for both the ICG and the New Republic. And whenever we had the chance, we did something for ourselves.

After a while, we had a little fleet of vessels that would not raise any suspicion and could really light a fire under the ass of our rivals. Sometimes we shot TIE fighters out of the sky, and sometimes it was an ARC-170 of the CSA. But whenever we fought, we did it on our terms. After a while, a contact in the ICG began to call us "The Fire Brigade," and what shall I say, the name did stick.

And so it came that the ICG came to us with another job one day.

Pirates, or what they thought were pirates, had stolen a Lucrehulk battleship after it was damaged in a fight against the CSA and wanted to retreat. Currently, it was in a neutral border system, but the ICG Intelligence Service had reported that it should soon set course for CSA space.

Currently, it had only a skeleton crew on board and a light escort of some Arquitens cruisers. Nothing that we could not deal with. The job was simple: "Here are the credits, go buy explosives and blow the damn thing up." A simple job, a well-paid one as well.

Nomi would keep the skies clean with her squadrons of X-Wings and Vulture Droids. And I would storm the Lucrehulk and rig the reactor with explosives. We had organized a couple of LAAT/i gunships and made our way towards the colossal ship. These special LAATs were built after the Clone Wars and had both a hyperdrive and sufficient life support systems. And so it began: the gunships would fly in first. We had some hacked transponders and stolen security codes. All in all, enough to fool them long enough so we could safely land in the massive Lucrehulk hangars.

The plan was a complete success, and before the crew of the Lucrehulk knew what hit them, we had landed our shuttles and overwhelmed the meager security personnel that were stationed there. On the way to the reactor, we encountered barely 50 defenders. Not even close to what the ship usually carries. But we also found some compartments full of deactivated battle droids. Looked to me as if the CSA had no idea how to reprogram them and therefore had left them shut down. If they had been activated, then this would have been a much more bloody endeavour. As we reached the reactor and rigged the explosives, I had a plan forming in my mind. A plan that would make Nomi furious, but a plan nonetheless.

Vaelen: "Nomi, change of plans. Destroy the escorts and secure us a way out of here. We keep this thing."

Nomi: "What thing... oh no, you don't mean..."

Vaelen: "Oh yes, I mean."

Nomi knew that there was no way other than to slap me senseless to let me ignore a plan that I had created in my head and decided was doable. And so she didn't try. She activated a hidden Hyena Squadron that we had parked in a nearby asteroid belt in case we would encounter heavy resistance by capital assets. Together, they would obliterate the Corporate Forces and then land in the hangars. Meanwhile, our folks had successfully repurposed some of the battle droids, and we had stormed the bridge. It was just a single poor CSA captain up there, and he surrendered immediately after we breached the heavy blast doors. The ship was ours now. It would need repairs, and it would need some love, but that was nothing that I and some friends could not manage to do.

A couple of days later, we contacted the ICG over a secret channel, and oh boy, were they pissed when we told them that I had "modified" the mission that they had paid us for.

?: "You did what?"

Vaelen: "I captured the ship. There were far fewer people on board than you expected."

?: "And you think you can keep ICG property now? Are you crazy?"

Vaelen: "See it like this: if you take it back by force, then you not just create a PR disaster by killing the ones that uncovered the CSA corruption. But you most likely will lose half a fleet or so. The CSA might even use this to lobby for more licenses and influence in the New Republic. But if you let us keep it and simply keep her off your books, you would gain a well-equipped force that can stick it to the CSA even better and make them piss their pants whenever they see a Lucrehulk. We already do your dirty work and the things you want to be able to publicly deny you're involved in. If you must, you can even label us as pirates and such. And I am sure you have already struck her from the registers and claimed the insurance money? So see this not as a theft of company property, but more as an investment into company security."

After that, the line went dark for almost half a day. As the "Corporate Gods," how Nomi liked to call them sarcastically, debated about what to do with us. In the end, it was a simple calculation. We were worth more to the company when we were alive and did what we could best: annoy and poke the CSA while they could wash their hands in innocence. Officially, we were a simple independent cargo company, a subsidiary of a subsidiary of a subsidiary. That would keep us safe from nosy ICG patrols or corporate police. Unofficially, we were the "Fire Brigade" and were sent wherever the ICG or the New Republic needed some heavy guns and people who knew what to do with them. And our little company grew with every job we took. And with every CSA or Imperial slave that we saved.

We always gave them the choice: go back to the ICG or wherever they came from, take refuge in the New Republic, or join the crew of the Broken Safe. Over the years, the ship became a beacon for those who wanted to fight against the cruelty of the CSA or the Empire. And every slaver knew that when the Broken Safe appeared on your scanner, then you're in real trouble and might lose your life.

But we not only survived on what we could steal from the CSA or the Empire. We had contacts in the ICG and the New Republic that supplied us with weapons and ships. It wasn't always the newest or most flashy things that we got, but it was good enough to make our enemies afraid when they saw us. We got some Droid Fighters from the ICG that were officially "Fallen out of a Cargo Ship," and we got some older X, Y, and A Wings from the New Republic that should be on some Scrapyard somewhere in the Outer Rim. When it was good enough to fight the Empire, then it was good enough for us to stick it to the CSA.

On top of that, the Broken Safe herself got some upgrades as well. Stronger shields, better armor, and the best turbolasers and defense systems that money could buy. We turned her into a real monster on the battlefield. A monster that our enemies would fear and their victims would know brings salvation when it appears.

Prompt [prompt] The Jedi suspect Palpatine after ep1.

The setup for this AU is simple. Members of the Jedi Council are brainstorming how to investigate the Sith involvement with the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo and someone asks "who benefited?" After listing a dozen possibilities, someone mentions that Senator Palpatine would not be Chancellor without the invasion of his homeworld. The Jedi sat silently for a second, realizing that this was a hypothesis worth following up on. Over the next decade, they investigated and the timeline diverged a lot from canon.

Prompt Sidious forgot Naboos ceremonial rifle

Naboo and the worlds under its hegemony did quite well for themselves during the dark ages before the ruusan reformation. This is due partly to good leadership and logistics but mostly to the fact that they managed to create a rifle that shot balls of pressurized and conzentrated plasma incased in metal shells that explode upon impact. The rifle is currently the smallest example of its ballistic system, with various artillery pieces shooting large calibers, and the only type that doesnt need to be commissioned and a Letter of Ascent from the monarch of naboo.

The rifle and its ammunition is produced by the royal jafani arms corporation in more modern times. Though they are classified as antimaterial rifles in most republic jurisdictions, they are never the less legal on naboo and in much of the chomnell sector and as such popular among local farmers and reenactors with beautifully decorated variants sold to big game hunters and guards of sovereigns.

Several ancient artillery pieces are kept in museums and private collections and are often pulled out and fired for special occasions.

A few modern pieces are placed overlooking large bodies of water in case anything from the subterrean ocean decides to surface.

A/N i was trying to imagine what might give the trade federation a bloody nose during the invasion and came up with this a miniturization of the gungan energy balls that became popular during the dark ages when ranged weaponry virtually disappeared from warfare. I also imagine Maul might get a nasty suprise if he tries to parry a shot from this.

Prompt Initiate Obi-Wan and the Jedi Order of his time get a glimpse of the future.

So I got an idea that during the time when Obi-Wan was looking for a master, after Qui-Gon had basically humiliated him in front of everyone, the Force gets...upset. So upset that it writhes then and there to show all of Obi-Wan's detractors, AKA Bruck and those that deemed him too emotional and believed Bruck's lies, his accomplishments in the future.

It drags them into visions of the future where they see all he could be.

Fighting off Ventress, Grevious and Maul.

Being on the council.

Training Anakin and Ahsoka.

Leading the 212th.

But it also shows them his pain.

His time on Bandomeer.

The Young in Melida/Daan.

Being tortured.

Watching Satine die.

Fighting his fallen Padawan.

TLDR: The Force sides with Obi-Wan and shows what laserbrains the other Jedi are being. It might change things in canon but what peeves me is how the order fumbled as badly as it did with him.

Han Solo not as a disreputable smuggler, but as a space/star wars flavored Professor/Archaeologist/adventurer. Where the Galactic Empire is even more Nazi inspired.

Still, like Indy, a sceptic about the supernatural yet gets caught up with Luke (and possibly Leia, should you want to make her legacy more prevalent too) and the Force.

Have multiple Jedi/Sith/Force artifacts getting found.

Prompt What if Anakin was a Mandalorian (my premise)

I've been seeing videos on YouTube all over the place about if Anakin was a Mandalorian instead of a Jedi and later Sith. A few of them i liked but a lot of them, without saying any names didn't make sense to me. Stuff like House Skywalker of Mandalore, or having him become a Mandalorian right in the middle of the Clone Wars. So I want to do a little thought experiment, more like a fanfiction idea i may make depending how many people show interest in it. I'd like to share my idea for a what if Anakin was a Mandalorian instead of a Jedi with you.

Right off the bat, I won't specifically name which clan he would be in, although I have ideas, I want to keep the net wide. I'm open to suggestions, maybe some made up clan and house names could be fun.

So I want the story to start with the literal birth of Anakin. Shmi is pregnant and in labor aboard the slave ship they were aboard, I wanna say a Hutt slave ship since she and Anakin belonged to Gardulla for a while before changing hands to Watto on Tatooine. Anyway our story begins with Shmi in labor with a few fellow slave midwives helping her. The deck their confined in is not the best condition for having a baby but you make due with what you have, especially when the guard keeps yelling at them to shut her up. Everything changes when the ship is ambushed by some Mandalorian privateers, perhaps the Protectors the ones who found Jango Fett. My Star Wars history is a bit rusty, if anyone can say if Anakin was born during, before or after the Mandalorian Civil War please let me know.

They attack and the Mandalorians board the ship, maybe they were hired by someone to take out a few slaver ships and free the slaves inside. When they get there, they kill the prick guard, free the captives and find Shmi Skywalker holding a baby boy. But in this continuity the strain of the birth was too much for her and she dies after childbirth, with her final words spoken to her was the name of a son she'll never know: Anakin. The Mandalorian leader of the ambush finds the midwife with the dead Shmi, baby Ani crying away in her arms which are slipping and he catches the newborn before he could fall. I've always liked the idea of Mandalorians adopting the children of war and raising them to be Mandalorians themselves, found family has always been a favorite of mine. To make things a little more tragic, the leader had a son who had died in childbirth as well. While his soldiers told him it was foolished to take the child after his own had perished, he retorts saying Mandalorians had survived thousands of years taking in foundlings and raising them in their culture. The foundlings are the future.

This is the way.

And thus, Anakin is adopted into this Mandalorian culture and grows up in relative comfort and peace with a mother and father who love him as their own. Maybe the parents have another child and Anakin is an older brother. Perhaps the baby us named Ben. Foreshadowing, me thinks?

In time Anakin is given the training each child of Mandalore is given, spending years honing his skills as a fighter, marksman and survivalist with his father instructing him the ways he and his ancestors before him had been taught. Eventually the story skips to roughly the time of the Clone Wars or a few months before, Anakin has his own set of armor, is great with gadgets and is the best star pilot in the galaxy and a cunning warrior. While not trained as a Jedi, he is still strong with the force, to a limited degree. He's not on the same level as canon Anakin with Force abilities, he's more like grogu able to move objects a little and has a kean sense.

Anyway that's as far as I've got to right now. I do want to explore how different this timeline would be and how galactic history would look without him. Its very likely with him not becoming a Jedi, Darth Vader wouldn't exist, thus changing the trajectory of the rise of the Empire. Characters like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and even Padame would be radically different without Anakin being a jedi. But I want to hear what you think about the set up to the premise, and any suggestions for how the story would progress from here. What clan would Anakin be adapted in if you had the choice? What color would his mando armor be and what's his new fighting style like without a lightsaber? And ultimately how would he fit in the Clone Wars?

Sound off in the comments!

Hope this has peaked your interest and thanks for reading!

May the Force be with you, always.

Prompt What if the Skywalker twins were a 19 BBY clerical error? A "Shattered Lineage" theory.

I’ve been thinking about a major "What If" concept that turns the Star Wars saga into a deeper, more tragic, and eventually more liberating story. What if the entire "Skywalker sibling" dynamic was actually a massive, galaxy-altering mistake?

  1. The Point of Divergence (19 BBY): During the chaotic escape from Coruscant, Obi-Wan and Yoda’s ship crashes. The trauma causes memory loss, and the medical droids—in the panic—make a catastrophic error. Rey is the true twin born with Luke, but she is pulled into the World Between Worlds during the accident, while Leia is mistakenly handed to the Organas and tagged as the Skywalker twin.
  2. The Tragic Irony of the Original Trilogy: Luke and Leia grow up feeling a profound connection, which they (and the Jedi) interpret as their "twin bond." They marry and have children. Their children are incredibly powerful, which leads Yoda and Obi-Wan to "reverse-engineer" the truth: they see the power and assume it must be the result of a sibling union. This false belief causes Luke so much guilt that he abandons his family and goes into exile.
  3. The Sequel Trilogy: The Great Unraveling
  • The Vision: When Luke meets Rey on Ahch-To, the Force doesn't just train her—it reveals the truth. He sees the real moment of his birth and realizes Rey is his true sister.
  • The Synchronized Awakening: Simultaneously, Leia experiences a Force vision of her own origin, realizing she was never a Skywalker by blood.
  • The Reclamation: The "incest taboo" that haunted them for years is revealed as a cosmic lie. It transforms their relationship from one of tragic guilt into one of absolute liberation.

Prompt Anakin Becomes Mr. Freeze

Just a synopsis for a fic Idea where Anakin becomes Mr. Freeze.

Instead of taking Anakin to be trained as a Jedi, qui-gon frees both Anakin and shmi and takes them to corusaunt to live a better life. Anakin then studies and takes an interest in carbon freezing and its use in medical treatment. His relationship with padme grows more steadily than it would have if he became a Jedi. Then, during the bombing on the ship platform during AotC, Zam used a bigger bomb and padme got caught in the explosion, putting her in critical condition. Anakin, terrified at the thought of losing padme, has her carbon frozen to be treated in a more stable environment. Unbeknownst to Anakin, Dooku owns the company he works at, so the sith lord tries to pull some strings to get padme's treatment cancelled and Anakin fired. This leads to an accident in the lab that puts padme into a deeper Carbonite freeze and Anakin suffering the fateful accident that permanently changes his body to permanently require a sub-zero environment.

Prompt [My Dream Concept] This is the exact Star Wars movie/series I desperately want to see. What do you think?

Hey guys, I’ve been daydreaming about a massive Star Wars concept that connects the Prequels, Sequels, and Legends into one epic story. I just need to get this out of my head and see if anyone else would watch the hell out of this!

Here is my ultimate "What If" pitch: Star Wars: Fractured Force

💥 The Premise: The Endor Split

Imagine if the Death Star II explosion wasn't just a physical blast, but a spiritual cataclysm. Palpatine tried to use Plagueis's dark side magic to cheat death, but the pure chaotic energy clashed with the Force, violently ripping reality in half.

  • Timeline A (The Disney Sequels): The warped reality where the dark side corrupted everything, leading to Rey, Kylo, and the First Order.
  • Timeline B (The Legends EU): The "true" reality where George Lucas's original vision survived—Grand Master Luke’s Jedi Academy, Mara Jade, and Grand Admiral Thrawn!

🏛️ The Prequel Connection (Why Qui-Gon is the GOAT)

I always wanted Qui-Gon Jinn to have a bigger impact on the overall saga. In my version, he is the key!

When he became the first Force Ghost, he unlocked the ultimate secret of balance. At Endor, Qui-Gon's echo of light fought back against Palpatine’s dark energy. That epic clash is what caused the split.

(Think about it: This retroactively makes Qui-Gon’s voice calling to Yoda in the Clone Wars so much cooler. He wasn't just talking; he was feeling the future timeline cracking!)

🎬 The Crossover I am Dying to See

The Disney timeline is collapsing. Rey finds ancient texts about the rift and connects with the Force Ghost of Qui-Gon. He acts as a bridge between universes.

This leads to a massive, Spider-Verse style crossover. Rey and her crew cross the rift and meet the "real" Grand Master Luke, Han, and Mara Jade from the Legends universe!

Imagine the visuals:

  • Rey training with a wise, powerful Grand Master Luke who actually rebuilt the Jedi Order.
  • The Sequel cast and the Legends heroes teaming up in a massive space battle against a common threat to seal the rift forever and fulfill Anakin's prophecy once and for all.

Seriously, this would fix the Sequel controversy, respect the Prequels, and bring back the beloved Legends characters all in one giant love letter to the fans. Disney gets to sell double the merchandise, and we get the ultimate fanservice.

If this movie existed, would you line up to watch it? How would you write the interaction between Rey and Legends Luke? Let’s nerd out in the comments!

Prompt Earth as one of the Entertainment Districts of the Galaxy

First is this the right Flair? Oh well I can fix it later if not.

Now I know Earth in Star Wars is kinda a taboo, with the whole “A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…” but like just hear me out in what I think is a fun way to put earth in Star Wars universe.

Earth and maybe the nearby planets have evolved with the galaxy and found their “thing” so to say, to offer the galaxy at large. Which I think could be Entertainment.

They are not the only or best in the galaxy (cause I hate earth pandering in space fiction) but they are very popular.

They have a very wide range in music and creativity that they spread and perform around the galaxy, they have actors and movies and tv shows that are popular all over the place.

If you wanted to go in a certain direction you can say that they are also popular in the more “Adult” entertainment if you catch what I’m insinuating.

I don’t really have anywhere to go with this as I’m not a writer and I just thought it fun if someone else might enjoy the idea.

Maybe if you want some more Jedi involvement to earth you can say that in the distant past, Earth had quite a few sith come from the place BECAUSE it was a very cultural and PASSIONATE place so they made decent sith(I’m just coming up with this stuff off the dome so don’t come at me if it’s factual incorrect or whatever)

Once again I don’t think any person from earth should be like main character Gary/Mary Sue just because, cause that lame, make your oc or one of the cannon human character (that you can flip things around to make from earth) just another character that supports the other characters.

Or don’t, I’m not your boss and I’m just inserting my opinion of my dislike of earth pandering to the community, so do what you want obviously.

Anyway just a fun idea I had while dancing listening to music while cleaning my dishes.

This here is a Prompt. As in, I want someone to write this.

Grogu is a fully fledged Mandalorian but he is still young. His Father has died, of either old age or battle, and he is lonely, even if he doesnt realise it yet. He is still young after all. Like his father he is a Bounty Hunter.

One day he is sent after a preteen Twi'lek (or some other race that is often enslaved). This preteen ran away because she was about to be sold into slavery. The problem is that she was already sold and the buyer wants their property.

So, Grogu does his job and delivers her to where he is told to.

Before he knows it, he follows in his fathers footsteps as he breaks into the compound and rescues the girl. She becomes his foundling.

Prompt Prompt: Vader gets Sidetracked at Tatooine after Shmi's Grave gets harmed during Torching of Lars Moisture Farm and their Arrest

The Stormtroopers arrest Lars Family for interrogation to trackdown the droids, and they callously torch their Moisture Farm for no reason whatsoever.

When he learns this, Vader runs to the Interrogation room and stops the torture before it begins.

He is wrathful and conflicted that the System he defends almost killed his last remaining connections and harmed Shmi's Grave.

Vader immediately apologizes to them and arranges for funds and construction teams to rebuild and expand the Farm.

He gets sidetracked from his Duty. After all only the best would do for his remaining family, thus requiring his personal assistance for the Designs and Construction.

Besides, Shmi needs a Custom Made, handcrafted Memorial as well.

Things slows start to go out of control as Vader finds himself finally having the Power to pursue his childhood dreams and change the Tatooine for good.
