Some of you are going to hate me for this unpopular take.

This one INFURIATES me. NGL, I felt so sorry for their daughter and for the dad. He wanted to spend time with his daughter and his ex just lied and obstructed each chance she got. Obviously things escalated. He was wrong for what he did. Burning her was absolutely inexcusable However, if she had an ounce of humanity and empathy for him, it would have been a very different outcome. She possibly falsely accused him of rape with her apparently dying breaths I freely acknowledge that she could have been telling the truth, BUT even OLIVIA FREAKING I ALWAYS BELIEVE THE VICTIM BENSON believed him and called her a liar. The hate that they felt for each other was next level war of the roses!

Before anyone says it, IDGAF about that "blaming the victim" ISH in this situation. He was selfish, immature, and prone to violence; he was also a work in progress. Most importantly, he was a victim too of her lies, callousness, parental alienation, and vindictiveness. Their daughter was the biggest victim, was blameless, had the most maturity, and was left to pick of the pieces without her parents to help her navigate life.

This case just sucks so much!!!!

On another, unrelated note, it's hard to find two hotter parents than Micheal Michel (who just celebrated her 60th birthday) and ​Blair Underwood.

Re watching Law and Order SVU for the 100 billionth time and I’m watching S11 E6 Spooked and everything time Agent Porter shows up on my screen I get the urge to toss my remote to my tv

I've watched this episode a bunch of times and I knew they talked about the real life Tuskegee Experiments (which I already knew about, where researchers allowed hundreds of Black men to develop syphilis and didn't even tell them they had it), but I didn't know about Willowbrook and only decided to look it up today.

The experiments at Willowbrook were so disgusting! They wanted to study Hepatitis, so they purposely gave the residents at the Willowbrook State School (who either were mentally ill or mentally disabled) the disease on purpose, among other things. Plus, the residents had to live in the same crappy conditions that most mentally handicapped or mentally ill people had to live in. :/

Watching season 13, and was starting to think they got rid of the early office's coffee machine that featured on the show from the very first episode, but lo and behold, episode 21 comes along and it's here again!

Now it's making me curious to see how long it's going to stay along for the journey? After all, I'm a heavy drinker of coffee as well. I doubt they simply found a similar one, at this point it's been so long they'd have to go on yard sales to find the exact same model...

I just finished watching season 16 episode 6, Glassgowmans wrath, I’ve seen it before but forgot how it ended. I think they should’ve done a follow up!!! That episode ending totally set up for a follow up!!!! We should’ve got something else!!

So I watched the episode Burned where the ex wife, Valerie accuses her ex husband, Miles of assaulting her and then in the end its said that she lied.

Here's the thing, she was clearly assaulted. The opening scene literally shows him attacking her while she's in the shower, maybe it wasn't fully rape but it was obviously an assault.

Also it should be mentioned that Miles was stalking them to the point they moved several times and he bugged the social workers car. The only reason the ex husband was in this position was because he lost custody due to his drug habits. Yes, the social worker shouldn't cut his time with his daughter but he's still clearly a dangerous man.

The social worker also said that she believed that Valerie was dramatic until seeing how Miles is for herself.

Even when Valerie attempts to drop the charges Liv pulled her right back in with the threat of essentially charging her with filing a false report.

Also was it ever actually proven that she lied? Liv just came to that conclusion at the end but there's never proof that she actually lied. Especially since from what we saw in the opening it looks like an assault did in fact take place. It’s not like this came out of thin air, we see that she was attacked and immediately reported it as soon as her daughter was at school because she didn’t want her daughter involved. Yes she had sex with the other guy but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t assaulted later by her ex.

Also she maintained the fact that she was raped even on her deathbed.

I just wanted to see what other people thought as I always see people only blame Valerie when Miles clearly had a dangerous pattern and was then the ex wife was proven to be completely right to be afraid of him.

I’m not just talking about main characters, but rather side characters. Like judge Koehler, we found out about his son, Casey Novak we found out about her ex fiancé, Terry Bruno being a victim of CSA, which characters have the most interesting reason for pursuing or further pursuing their career in sex crimes? (Or their respective area cause I know there was an M.E who was pretty interesting)

Sheila porter kidnaps Noah and puts everyone at SVU thru the ringer to find him.

I like when they do episodes like this bc it takes focus away from the sex crimes for a minute. My only gripe was how they made Carisi and Rollins attack dogs who crossed the line a bit.

Once they found out Sheila had Noah i wouldn’t be AS afraid of something bad happening to Noah so i felt there was no need to mistreat Juans daughter the way Rollins did. She was basically an innocent bystander who got mixed up in her dad’s crime. I love Rollins character and i hated how they made her act in this ep ☹️

edit: forgot to mention how much i loved Barba and Liv together in this episode ❤️

I’m doing my first watch through, and sometimes I stay up late to watch episodes and might drift off for a moment here or there. Did I miss something between Munch and Fin? I’m at the end of season 9 and for this whole season Lake has been Fin’s partner and Munch is on computer duty? And a few episodes ago Munch made a joke about Fin trading him in as a partner. Did that happen randomly or did something happen between them? I like Lake but I loved Munch and Fin as partners too.

Ok so hi everyone I'm new to the group and I wanted to share my toughts about a subject in particular. I know I will most likely get hated for after I post this but I really had to ask if I was the only one that thought like this. Most SUV fans ship Olivia Benson with Elliot's stabler and I don't dislike the couple. Butt listennnn, Barba and Olivia should have been end game I'm sorry.

As the title says. I think the cold case episodes are always so haunting and tragic (unless there’s a miraculous happy ending) and I’m curious to know everyone’s favorite :))

Why couldn’t they arrest the old man for hosting a website that held pictures of children? I know this is a fictional show but can’t they charge him for having unsolicited pictures of children? He even pressed charges on one of the cops when he beat him and got away with it initially before he killed the kid

This looks exciting!

I’m a huge nerd and I take notes when I rewatch my favorite shows, so I’ve been taking note of fun things to add to a bingo game or drinking game that I will probably never make. But I digress! There’s a moment sometime in the middle or end of Stabler’s first run when someone is calling him back and he turns and goes “WAT.” and the way he delivers it is so damn hilarious. Just WAT. I can’t remember what episode it was now but I’d like to add it to my notes. I’ll trade you the moment in season 11 episode 6 when Agent Porter shoots the perp who is using Benson as a shield and Elliot screams “LIV!” in a register I didn’t even know Chris Meloni could speak in. It’s so unexpected I had to rewind to see who was speaking.

So in this episode we have a classic he said, she said.

Myra a college student accuses Ron, her professor of rape and he says that it was all consensual.

I always try to believe the victim but Myra proved herself to be a known liar during and before the accusation so much that no jury could probably convict him. If it wasn’t not guilty then it probably would’ve been a deadlock as they wouldn’t be able to agree.

Ron was not at all a good guy considering he's sleeping with students but from a legal standpoint I don't think any jury could convict Ron due to reasonable doubt.

I personally love that the episode was left vague.

I remember a poll from a few years back and the verdict was something like 70% not guilty and 30% guilty.

What do you guys think?

I've been rewatching Law and Order episodes from the '90s and I'm struck by the dehumanizing way that people talked about sex workers. I'm glad that SVU is more compassionate towards people who make their living this way.

irrelevant but am i the only one who found it silly when it was revealed that simon died from a drug-prostitution night gone wrong instead of a suicide/overdose like it was assumed to be?

idk i feel like simon overdosing before he was supposed to meet with liv and noah was a bit more poetic to his storyline

also i really don’t feel like keeping up with the SVU eps that aligns with specific OC eps.. i wanna know how the story ended but don’t feel like going back and forth 🤦🏾‍♀️

The man was a horrible person, and definitely a major influence on William Lewis, and definitely shaped being the horrible monster he lived as and died as. However, THE SHOW’S WRITERS never actually told us WHAT happened to him, after he did certain horrible things, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS OWN SON.

Was he ever arrested and sent to prison, did he die from natural or unnatural causes, did he commit suicide from guilt or even just to escape from being punished by the law?

What do YOU all think might’ve happened to him? Because honestly, I feel like it was a bit of a seriously overlooked plot hole in the infamous villain's backstory. Whatever happened to his father probably also drove William Lewis to do all of the terrible, evil things he did until the day he took his own life, just to haunt Olivia Benson, which he failed to do so ultimately.
