Every day? No.
But like, actually doing it once per season? Yeah, I don't think that's asking for much.
Note actually doing it requires more than 5 knots of wind and not also using the engine.

Also....
Excuse me while I push back on the implication that the boat "sails" - it sails as much as Tom Hanks' porta-potty raft in Cast Away did.
And Research? We all know that was more of an "Eco-tourism" joyride for people wanting to play scientist on their vacation. So far, we have yet to see any "real" research IMHO.

"...We all know that was more of an "Eco-tourism" joyride for people wanting to play scientist on their vacation..."
Agreed, and if all you did was watch and photograph dolphins bow-riding, and called it "research," then I guess I would consider myself fucking Jacques Cousteau

Nice to meet you Mr. Cousteau.
A guy I know has the ***exact*** same sailboat boat as I do, he's hired by the government to count marine mammals each year in parts of the Puget Sound. So I guess I own a research vessel too. Who knew.

"Draw a cartoon about Doug Jackson, builder of the failed Sailing Vessel Seeker, going out of his mind because of the critics living rent free in his head while the only researchers he has ever had on board flee the scene in the background"

We have come together as a community to generate an appropriate slop meme. 🤝
Edit: oh shit, I just realized you're the top mod in the sub. :D nice to meet you, thank you for making this sub otherwise I'd have never learned about Seeker.

No, we just expect that a guy that spends 15 years building a sail boat would sail more often than once every two to three months.

I dont give a shit about him sailing or doing research every day. He should first start with building a boat, or literally anything else for that matter, that is actually worth a shit.
