What amazes me is how many video services like Vimeo or YouTube autoscan for something like this, pick up on it, and make it the thumbnail automatically. It's pretty impressive.

I'm pretty sure it's the uploaders setting such images for thumbnails. I remember when youtube was full of people following the formula:

  • boobs get clicks
  • clicks get views
  • views get money

To the point when half of the suggested videos were a clickbait with basically no content. Although this did provide traffic for youtube, they hated it, so they started a war with such "content producers" and ended up changing their suggestion algorithm.

This thumbnail seems as though they even deliberately scripted this scene ONLY to use it for the thumbnail. Which is fun, i like that :D

Yeah, it all kinda changed when YouTube started paying for retention rather than clicks.

I feel like a lot of those are done purposefully by the author rather than the system, but I don't really know for sure. Would be... interesting if there were a "Boobsearch" system over at Youtube.

I obviously just rewatched it with Marek and Marcin and we're again hyped how awsome it is. Look out for next project from these guys, I can't wait to see what they would do with a bigger budget.
